Zell’s Popular Euej’flopcdia-
We consider it an excellent work,
and one that will prove ol great Talue
to everybody. Address T. Ellwood

Dawsoit Cotton Factory—
Every day’s experience but more
and more impresses us with the im
portance and utility of establishing in
this city a Cotton Factory. We are
aware of the fact that an effort has
ulready been made for the accomplish
ment of this great enterprise. Some
$*20,000 has already been subscribed
to the contemplated work ; and every
duv teaches us that it only requires a
.little more effort upon the pait of our
cntorpris'ng citizens to place the work
beyond the possibility ol a failure. Let
us not bo over anxious to accomplish
'toomuch at once; but, be progressive
.upon n small scale, rather than stand
still and do nothin<j; while our neigh -
'boripg towns around us are growing
,iu the number of their inhabitants, and
establishing Factories in their midst, 1
thereby, making rapid and successful
strides towards prosperity
In our last issue, wo published an'
nrticle for the information of our rea
ders, showing the actual cost of the
>mai;l»iuory for a Cotton Factory of
1000 spindles, amounting to some
.sl3 (MJO. The question naturally sug- ;
gests itself to every business man,
whether we had not better make u
commencement with a 1000 Spindle ;
Factory, than none at at!? But-, when
it is apparent to every man, who can
•count four, that there is an attundanee
-of capita! in Ten ell county, alone, to
erect a Factory of 3000 Spindles, wo
are at a loss to conjecture why it is
not done at once; not only in Daws n,
but, we would bu glad to see tin in
•erected all over Georgia We have
the raw material at our command, let
in manufacture it at home, teaching
the practical lesson, that Cotton Fac
tories in the South, will make “Cotton
King;” and our word for it, you will
■soon find Yankee capitab'coming down
South,” and anew impetus given to all :
kinds of business, never before expe- !
rienced in this country. Our little City
now numbering some 1500 inhabitants,
in a very short peiiod, would swell its
numbers to two or three thousand.-
Don’t sleep any longer over your inter
ests, but meet at once, and determine
to. have the Factory.
Stop ! Stop ! !
Yo ruin-bound souls—diink no lon
ger—free yourself from the terrible
embrace of tho worm of the iStill, and
boa man once more—cause your wife
to sing for joy and your children's hap
py laugh to be hsard again.
Go to Willie Lovle.-s’ and procure a
bottle of Hay’s Antidote for Liquor, it
is a sure cure—no humbug—numbers
of living wimessos can testify to its ef
ficacy. Those who are in the habit of
, drinking had better get a bottle while
the opportunity is offered. You tem
perate ones get a bottle and keep it in
your house, for fear you may contract
the halm. Price only $5 per bottle.
Willie also keeps on hand a large and
well selected stock of Drugs, Chomi
cals, Paints, Oils, Glass, &c , Patent
Medicines of all kinds, including Drom
goole’s justly celebrated Preparations.
Ladies, call to see Willie when you
pass, and if ho has not what you want
ho wiil get it.
Parties need not fear to take prep
arations put up by himself, as they are
prepared according to the- latest re
vised edition of tho United Stater Dis
pensatory and Pharmacopao, and un
der the immediate supervision ol a
physician of experience.

We have received this highly inter
esting monthly for March, filled with
its usual nrnount of literary articles
and tho various Spring fushions. In
point of style and beauty it has no su
perior. We cheerfully recommend
