; Agrienltaral Clubs. |
} The infinence of clubs on agri- 1
ealtural progress has been very
great in almdst every part of tha
State. In fact, it is undoubtedly |
itrue that much of the remarkatle I
developeut of the raral interests
18 dne more to the influence of |
the clubs than to any other eanse.
- Thesa clubs are highly beneficial
Lo matter what particular pbnsei
they assume. Some of then are
‘principally gatherings for socin.l!
purposes, and these do much to ]
‘make country life pleasant and to |
enlighten and lend a charm to |
‘what many consider its privations.
Other elubs are for the purpose of
conference and mutual improve
‘ment, becoming really agrienl
tural schools with weekly or semi
‘monthly sessions; and others have
business fealures of great value to
the members, securing to them
the benefit of combinalions and i
co-operation. These lutter are,
when conducted with diseretion }
and on sound business principles,
of very great value to the mem- ’
bers, and offen result in the sav. l
ing of large nmonnts of money to|
the farmers, besides obtaining for
them consideration which as indi
viduals would not be accorded
{hem ir business transactions. !
These clubs exist in every sec- :
tion of the State. The consilera- ‘
tion they give to all the questions
nffecting the agricultural interests
is in the highest degree to be com
mended.

to its rales, we are heartily in
} favor of it. It is true that where
itheru is more than one paper in a

~ You Carry
' A whole medicine chest in your pocket,
| Wwith one box of Ayer's Pilia. As they
" operate direcily on the stomach and
bowels, they indirectly affect every
cther organ of the body. Wkhen tho
stomach is out of order, the head is
affected, digestion fails, the bloed be

easy victim to any prevalent discase.
Niss M. E. Boyle, of Wilkesbarre, Pa.,

surprised and delighted at the action of
the Pills, so much so, indeed, that I was
led to a further trial of them, as well ag
of your Cherry Pectoral and Sarsapa

in their favor.”
John W. Brown, M. D., of Oceana,
W. Va, writes: “Iprescribe Ayer's Pills
i my practice, and find them excellent.,
I urge their general use in families,”
T. E. Hastings, M. D., of Baltimore,
