Made, and sold only by J. A. POLIIILL, jut»23.’82.by. Waynesboro, Ga. Bottom in Price ■f j —We have the following statement of the occurrences at the colored camp- meeting near Millen, last week, from what we believe to be n perfectly »elia- ble source. The woman who was report ed to have died, was in the altar, and was laboirng under considerable religious excitement, and screamed, or “shout ed” only once, and laying her head ip. the lap of a man sitting in the altar, she died instantly and before any one know it. Dr. Lanier, who was called in, pronounced it a case of heart disease, with which the woman was known to have been suffering for a long time.— The man who was icpnrted to have been killed there, was not on the gronurl at all, but was some mile and a halt off, at a point on the Ogeeebee river, where the negroes meet on Sat urday nights and Sundays to gamble, and was shot in a row over a game of cards, the ball taking effect in his neck and ranging downwards. He was not dead at. our latest accounts, but his physician says he cannot live. Rev. L. W. Coats, colored, who we believe is the Presiding Elder, informs us that thebest of order was kept on the camp ground. — Our citizens are daily visiting Augusta to trade, and to save them from the trouble of walking all over the city, and then p rhaps fall ing into the hands of unscrupulous dealers, who have no repu ation at stake and will impose upon you, wc direct the attention of our readers to the ad- vcriisement of Daly & Armstrong, to be found in to-day’s issue. These gen tlemen h <ve in store one of the finest stocks of goods we ever saw in Augusta, and as they deal in nothing but first class roods, you are always assured of what you . re buying. In calling at tention to our advertisements we have a bi tter object than a meie newspaper puff, it i9to inf rm our readers where they can purchase reliable goods, and to protect them against a certain class of traders who have no reputation to lose, and whose sole object is to get your money regardless of how badly you may be swindled. Therefore, when we ad vise you to buy from Daly & Arm strong we know that you will be dealing with a lesponsible firm, and will get reliable goods. The Music Hou e of the South. — Frof. G. O.
