WMUL.which has so lashed and agitated
inda of Burke, is soon to trouble
waters agaiu, yet in a less degree,
he time is near when clerk, treasurer
d otheawcounty official# are to bo
lected, ana it is with no little degree
of gratification to the friends of Mr.
Thomas Quinney that he has announced
ituself as a candidate for re-election
the important office of treasurer of

ivc of Louisville, Jefferson sounty,
and he oauie to this place several years
ago, and commenced the mercantile
bu>iness, and his superior business
qualifications, energy and integrity has
gained the confidence of the peop'e,—
He has served for several years
a* county treasurer, performing his
official duties with efficiency and satis
faction to ths public, which will re
dound to his credit and maintain the
respect of those who have boon his (
fiictids and earnest supporters in the
past Mr. Quinney has always been
identified with the Democratic party,
and an indom ; table worker to sustain
its principles in Burke county. There
fore, ns ho lias performed the duties of
his office so well and with such faithful
integrity, und proveu himself to he
worthy of the public confidence, it
should bo tiie earnest desire of every
citiBcn by giving hjm their hoarty sup

public* servant. Voter, pause for a
moment, and oonsider who is the wor
thy and fitleat tnan for office—let not
prejudice or olhor worst* reason in flu
encc your judgment. Although it is
rumored that tie r© are otiior aspirants,
and doubtless men of capacity, we
should no*, ignore lha claims of on?
who has .shown himself to posses* the
capacity, and who has so faithfully
served us in the past. As to the clerk
of the superior court, there are none
better titled, and no one who should
receive more the approbation of the
public than the present incumbent,
