To Cure Founder.
Mr. J. P. Godbee gives us tlio following re
ceipt for curing horse's of founder. Take a
dozen hen eggs, and mix with a lump of alum
as large as a partridge egg, powdered fine.—
Put the mixture in the trough, and ho says
tlio horse will cat It with avidity. Repeat tlie
dose whenever any symptoms of the founder
recur, and lie will soon become as sound as a
dollar. We would bo glad to know tipi re
sult of tho abovo prescription when any one
bus occasion to try It.
An Old Citizen Speaks.
Mr. J. M. Norris, nil old residont of Rome,

with kidney complaint for a great many
years and with eczema for tliroo years; at
limes could scarcely walk and lmd tried many
remedies without benefit, until lie began tak
ing Electric Bitters and anointing ids hands

treatment afforded him great relief and lie
strongly recommends Electric Bitters to all

Ajfuo-Shaken-Sufferers
Who resort to Ilostetter’s Stomach Bitters,
experience speedier and more complete rellet
than they can hope to do by tlio use of qui
nine. This well authenticated fact! s of Itself
sufficient to have established a high reputa
tion for the Bitters. But tho article is not a
speclflo merely for tho various forms of ma
larial disease, it endows the system with a
degree of vigor, and reforms its Irregularities
with a certainty that constitutes Its best
defence against disorders of tho stomach,
liver and bowels, specially rife whero tho
atmosphero aud water are miasma tainted.
Fever and ague, billious remittent, dumb
ague and ague cake are remedied and pre
vented by it, and it also removes dyspepsia,
oonstipation, rheumatism, &c. Take this
medicine on the first indication that the sys
tem is out of order, and rest assured that-you
'•(ill be grateful for the hint.
l ilt) Oil Mill.
We had the pleasure of a walk through the
cotton seed oil mill a few days ago, and
found all tho machinery in rapid motion, and
tlio oil flowing like water. The outside up
poarance of tho buildings is handsome, while
tho inside is filled will nil necessary macliln
ery, and work goes on day and night. Our
observation convinced us Unit we were not
mistaken in predicting that this groat enter
prise would pay its stockholders a remunera
tive dividend. Wagons are continually deliv
ering seed, and tho company have a large
supply on hand to work up. Many hands
find work in tlio mills, and taken nltogotlie
tlio laborers are reaping it great benefit from
It. There arc several other enterprises which
would pay If established at tills point. For
Instance wo see no reason why extenslvo cot
ton mills would not pay here. Burke county
raises annually between 25,000 and 30,000 bales
of cotton, mid it can be bought here cheap
from first hands than after it Is shipped.—
Tliereforo, with tlio crude material at our
doors, witli no extra oxponso for freight and
drayuge, we cannot sec why there is not large
money in a cotton factory. Every mainline
turlng enterprise adds to tlio material wealth
and importance of the location in which it is
established, and wo hope our capitalists will
give tlio subject duo consideration. Why
should Waynesboro not become a great man
ufneturlug centre?
