A CITIZEN OF ALBANY
WANTS SOME INFORMATION
About a Shot Gun Left Near This
Place During the War.
Sheriff Johnston is in receipt of
the following letter which will ex
plain itself. Perhaps some of our
Confederate Veteran readers can
give some information on the sub
ject:
Albany, Ga , March 31, 1907.
Sheriff Burke county, Ga—Will
you be so kind to an old soldier as
to see if you can get a shot gun for
me. I was in a small scrap just
across the creek Eist of Waynes
boro, Ga„ near the forks of a road,
also a cut in the railroad, near a
white house. I left my shot gun,
broken off at the breech—just the
guard over the triggers holding,
Another gun was left there broken
about the same way but the barrels
were larger than mine and shorter
I think it belonged to a man from
Texas. He helped me do some
good shooting with our six shooters
We kept them from cutting us
wuh their sabers. Just below the
cut in the railroad we left our guns
in this house.
If you can fiad this gun and ex
press It to me you will do me a
great favor. This is lots to ask of
you after so long a time.
Your friend,
J L. Acree
Tetter to P. B Hall.

Dear Sir: What will it cost to

We don’t know what daisy-seed

The parable throws some light on
the cost of a paint half and-half
with paint, is all-paint iu look and
fee’; indeed nine-tenths of the
‘‘paint” in the stores is part white
wash: some more, some less,
Paint has to be spread with the,
brush, the surface prepared, the lad
ders scaffolds pulleys and ropes ar
ranged and moved, there’s a great
deal of labor In putting paint on; it
costs $2 to $4 a gallon to do it.
What does it costs to palDt white
wash ? Just the same. Halfwhite
wash? Just the same. It does
harm, not good
Will the paint hold the white
wash fast ? or the whitewash loosen
the paint?
Better paint pure paint, the least

The speed limit for running auto
mobiles in the city is ten miles per
hour. Much complaint has been
entered for the violation of this or

It is also a violation of the city
law to ride or drive any vehicle in
either the old or the new cemeteries
without the permission of the may

with this ordinance will do well to
consult the authorities.
