Ihe Great Eastern Money Raising Cos. have been crowded with success during their first
week of the Great stock reducing sale at C. P. Daniels Sons, Waynesboro, Ga. Thousands
of their old customers and many new ones from all parts of this county and adjoining coun
ties have visited this store during this great sale and from the quantity of bundles each of
these carried away we feel sure that they must have been pleased with the great price cut
ting we have made.
fwo j weeks now left for us to get the remaining SIO,OOO out of this mammoth stock and every thing advertised last week that was
no; c ose out will be on sale again this week and prices will be cut still lower on many odd and broken lots. The great money giving
away proposition at this sale was a feature never before witnessed in Waynesboro and the second feature of the day was to see the great
crowds of eager buyers throng this store and the big arms fu l l of packages they would carry out. All next week we expect to see
>iggei crowds at this great sale than last week and we promise greater bargains than ever.
Remember this sale will last up to June Ist and everything advertised will be sold just so
long as this sale lasts _ *

Silk Conditions Favorable.
New York, May 22. —According to
the annual report of the Silk Associ
ation of America, just issued, con
sumption of raw silk by Europe and
the United States aggregates 40,000,-
000 pounds annually, of which the
United States consumes 15,000,000
pounds. Frank Allen, the secrelary,
reviews the silk trade for the last
year and asserts that present condi
tions were never more favorable.
There is one depressing feature, how
ever, and that is the high price of
raw silk. Not since 1893 has the
price been so high. Mr. Allen pre
dicts that unless there is a decline in
the raw material, the price of finish
ed silk will go higher.

WORK AHEAD FOR GRAND JURY.
Several Important Cases Will Be Con
sidered by Jurors.
Atlanta, May 20. —Tne Fulton coun
ty grand jury for the May term of su
perior court will hold a meeting Wed
nesday morning, at 10 o’clock. There
are several important matters await
.na the consideration of the grand
jury, and the session will a very busy
one.
The case of Fred Bush, charged
with assault with intent to murder,
is awaiting action, and he will prob
ably be indicted Wednesday. Bush,
who is charged with sending an in
fernal machine to the home of Mrs.
Julia McCarthy, on Georgia
about two weeks ago, was bound over
by Judge Broyles under a SIO,OOO
bond. He has never been able to
make the bond, and is still incarcer
ated In the county jail.
The case is one of the most sen
sational in the hislory of Fulton coun
ty courts, and the action of the grand
jury and the subsequent trial, in case
he is inducted is awaited with more
than ordinary interest.
Among ihe other matters which the
grand jury will n-o doubt consider are
the nine bucket shop cases, which are
also awaiting action. The parties in
these cases were indicted some time
ago, there being ten in jail, but one
was used as a test case of the Boykin
law prohibiting; the operation of buck
et shoys in this state. The operator
was convicted and fined sl,ofio by
Judge Roan, of the criminal division
of the superior court, and the judg
ment was affirmed last week by the
supreme court.
Immediately after the decision of
the higher court was renedered, So
licitor Hill directed Captain Monapban
to prepare the indictments against the
other parties and have them ready by
the time the grand jury meets.
Judge Roan has not decided the date
on which he will convene court, but
it is probable the remainder of the
bucket shop cases will be among the
first disposed of.
