And discouraging to the mar ried despite the fact that there has been several, (solutions offered ‘for this problem.* Some have suggested the ages at which couples should mar ry in order to be successful. But I don’t think- ages at which couples should marry in order to be success ful. But I don’t think age has any hi.ig to do with the success of a marriage so long as both parties are grown. And yet there is some ex ception to all rules and sometimes e old rule fails. Others have dis cussed the sacredness of the vow and ne. truthfulness of the parties who that’s alright. But I’m going in tell you that success doesn’t come through vows nor does it come thru the performance of matrimonial cere al : es So that at this junction ’m going to lay down for your con | s-deration a few essentials relative to the great subject. First success comes through satis faction, where there is no satisfac tion there can come no success. Sec ond comes through understanding j where there is misunderstan .ling J there is of necessity confusion. {Third midcrstandin-r comes through i experimental knowledge. Fourth ex perimental knowledge comes th • migh j patience which 1 r.ng; aho t hope. ;ow then the husband must know | bow to economize so as to be able i to support his wife, and the wife must i know how to ip to ~ot make the load too heavy. Let us tell you how your neighbor is saving from one-third to one- THE TRUE CITIZEN, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, 1926 down a load when it gets too heavy. Of course a lot of us could do much better than we are doing. The husband must want his wife to look better than all the other women in the world to him, and the wife must try to look better than- all the other wUm&n in the world to her' husband. The wife can do this by wearing pret ty hats, pretty coats, pretty dresses silk hose and low heel shoes. And those who do not wear bobbed hair must make their dresses longer. Marriage a success the husband must try to make his home the most com fortable place in all the world. If a wife is n ~>t worth treating right she is not worth staying with and if a woman can not enjoy keeping house for her husband she must have got ten the wrong husband. The biggest knock to marriage is we let the boys run out into the pasture too long they get too much of the world in a great big pasture. Marriage can be successful and will be successful when every man realizes what he owes to his wife and every woman is conscious of her subjection to her husband and then other women will be encouraged to get marriade. And this union will be a pleasant one and the brok en links .of this union will be resum ed in that celestial city.
