My buddy
This year’s buddy readers have included mem
bers of the Burke County High School foot
ball team, color guard and FBLA. WPS hopes
to include the BCHS Health Club, golf team,
and boys and girls basketball teams for fu
ture dates. The students came over last month
and read Halloween stories and paraded
through the halls to Ghostbusters,Thriller and
Monster Mash. “Our students here at WPS re
ally enjoy the Buddy Readers coming to read
to them every month. They are always so ex
cited and ask lots of questions of the high
school students,” said Casey Randolph, WPS
kindergarten teacher. Teachers at WPS believe
this is a wonderful program that benefits the
WPS students as well as high school students.

THANK YOU
I would like to send out my heartfelt apprecia
tion for you, the citizens of Ward 3. Although,
there was a low turnout for this last election,
the majority of you selected me to continue to
serve as your councilman, however, because
the votes were within the margin that consti
tutes a run-off election, we are not done yet.
We are experiencing difficult times not only
locally but also on a national level.
I feel that it is imperative that you the voters
of Ward 3, take under deep consideration my
12 years of experience serving as your rep
resentative on city council.
Citizens now is not the time to have inexperi
enced officials working on your behalf. Please
come out on December 1, 2009 and cast your
important vote for experience by voting for
councilman...
