From the Blotter
Bad dogs
Complaints of unruly canines were reported to authorities.
A Waynesboro woman was treated at Burke Medical Cen
ter after a dog bit her on the leg, according to a report filed at
the Waynesboro Police Department. Though the woman said
the dog was chained in a yard, she did not realize it could
reach her as she walked along Savannah Avenue.
On Monday, a mother complained to deputies after fight
ing off a dog that showed its teeth and barked at her daughter
as she waited for the school bus.
Later that day, a Blythe resident said he was still looking
for his pet. The man told a deputy that his neighbor’s son had
been walking by with several dogs when one of them came
into his yard and attacked his pup. The larger canine was pulled
off, but the man’s small dog cannot be found. The boy’s mother
said the dogs in her yard were strays.
Family feud
A domestic dispute developed into a brawl with a gun, a
knife and a baseball bat.
Christy Barnes Lariscey, 30, of Augusta told deputies she
went to Horseshoe Circle to pick up her sister, who had been
beaten by her boyfriend, Jackie Timothy Taylor, 41, of
Waynesboro. Gerald David Banks, 55, who has a child with
Laricey’s sister, accompanied her.
When the pair confronted Taylor, he allegedly began to hit
Banks with the bat. According to the report. Banks went after
Taylor with a knife, and Lariscey said she fired a shot in the
air to stop the fight.
All three were taken to the Burke County Jail, where Banks
and Taylor were booked for affray and Lariscey was charged
with disorderly conduct.
