Generosity helps
BCSO employee
Recovering from two strokes and un
able to work, JennieYoung might have
been worried about providing pre
sents for her three children this
Christmas. But thanks to the
Waynesboro Walgreens and Young’s
co-workers at the Burke County
Sheriff’s Office, her family won’t go
without Christmas morning. Employ
ees at the BSCO provided a monetary
donation and Walgreens manager Ja
son Lowe and his staff provided
plenty of packages from Santa. Right,
Lowe, second from left, and co-work-
ers Shay Howard, Renee Hutcherson
and Lori Redd ready their donation.

Dozens of Burke County families will have happier holidays, thanks to a former resident who wants to give back to
his hometown. With a little help from Burke Community Partnership, Roy Chance recently gave away 40 turkeys to
families being served through Teen Scene and after school programs in Keysville and at SGA Elementary. He is
pictured, third from right, with some of the recipients, volunteers and staff.
