Byron E. Quick III, 55, died
Monday. Dec. 7, 2009 at the
University Hospital in Augusta,
Ga.
A memorial service will be
held Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at 3
p.m. at Joiner Anderson Saxon
Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Earl Saxon officiating.
Mr. Quick was a native of
Richmond County and a long
time resident of Waynesboro.
He was a Cub Scout, Den 6, Boy
Scout and Explorer Scout.
Byron attended and graduated
from Edmund Burke Academy
and played football for the
Waynesboro Purple Hurricanes.
He graduated with honors from
Augusta State University and
received his Nursing Degree
from the Medical College of
Georgia.
Byron worked in the Emer
gency Department for the
Allendale Hospital in Allendale,
S.C. He was member of the First
Baptist Church of Waynesboro.
Prior to his nursing career he
worked with his father at Heri
tage Furniture Store in
Waynesboro. Bryon was an avid
gun collector and hunter.
Bryon was preceded in death
by his parents, Byron E. Quick
Jr. and Jewel Chance Quick.
Surviving is his aunt, Willie
Frances Russell of Waynesboro,
and many cousins and friends.

Juanita Barefield Oglesby, 78,
of Waynesboro, Ga., entered
into rest Saturday, Dec. 26,
2009.
Graveside services were at
1:30 pm, Tuesday, Dec. 29, at
Bethel Baptist Church Cem
etery in Alexander, Ga.
A native of Burke County she
was born Oct. 21, 1931 to the
late Robert Shafter Barefield
and Alva Ellison Barefield.
She retired from Keller
Manufacturing after 31 years of
service. Juanita was a member
of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Jeff Oglesby Sr.
She is survived by four chil
dren, Barbara Oglesby Hill
(Franklin), T.J. Oglesby Jr., both
of Waynesboro, Joe Oglesby
(Barbara), ofVidette, Ga., and
Mitchell Oglesby (Mary), of
Waynesboro; two brothers; two
sisters; five grandchildren; six
great grandchildren; and a great
great grandchild.
Visitation was 6-8 pm, Mon
day, Dec. 28, at DeLoach-
McKerley Funeral Home.

was bom in Burke County, Ga.
on March 17, 1927.
Funeral services will be held
on Saturday, Jan. 2, at 1 p.m. at
Fellowship Baptist Church in
Waynesboro with Pastor James
Thomas officiating.
Interment will be in the
church cemetery.
The family will receive
freinds on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010
from 6-7:30 p.m. at Carter’s
Mortuary.
She is survived by a son,
Johnnie Hall; a daughter,
Geneva Gay; three sisters; two
brothers; five grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren; and two
great-great grandchildren.
