A not-so-good Samaritan is
charged with tripping and rob
bing an elderly man he offered
to walk home.
According to police, Roger
Teddy Williams, 44, was at his
girlfriend’s Burkestone apart
ment Saturday when he offered
to walk the 79-year-old victim
home after a night of drinking.
While cutting through Davis
Park, however, Williams alleg

robbery and battery.
From the Blotter
While you were sleeping
A Forest Ridge resident’s car was stolen and returned while
she was sleeping.
According to a report fded at the Waynesboro Police De
partment, the woman woke up last Sunday to find her Buick
parked differently than she’d left it.
On closer inspection, she found a broken window and dam
aged steering column.
Both front seats were also left in a reclined position, leading
police to believe the thieves took the car out for joyride and
later returned it.
Fire and water
A River Road resident told deputies he was forced to read
Bible verses by a pistol wielding man who’d had too much to
drink.
According to a report fded at the Burke County Sheriff’s
Office last Wednesday night, the intoxicated offender alleg
edly called the victim outside his home, then pointed the pistol
at him and ordered him to his knees.
The victim told officers he was forced to read from Matthew
Chapter 3 ... in which John the Baptist tells the people to re
pent and baptizes them in the river Jordan.
The entire ordeal was witnessed by the victim’s young son,
the report said; however, the offender left before officers ar
rived.
Holes
Three Waynesboro residents aren't too happy about their cars.
According to a report filed at the police department, all three
cars were damaged by gunshots over the holidays. On Dec.
27, a car parked at Briarwood Apartments was shot through
the driver’s side door; then, just after midnight on New Year’s
Day, someone shot through the passenger side doors of two
cars parked outside Pilgrim Way homes. The victims told po
lice they didn’t know who would have done such a thing.
Auto-crimes
Late night thievery was rampant in the Burkehaven and
Spring Valley neighborhoods over the holidays. Over Christ
