Coloring the county fair
Four local first-graders will get into the gates at the county fair for free this week after winning The Waynesboro Ex
change Club’s fair week coloring contest.The talented students who turned in the winning entries were awarded free
admission for four after wowing judges with their pictures. Waynesboro Exchange Club member Dominee Thomas,
pictured with each winner, presented them with a certificate. Winners included, top left, Miranda Armstrong of S.G.A.
Elementary School, also pictured with principal Chequita Brady; top right, Walter Bryant of Waynesboro Primary School,

Public Hearing to Consider Closing Certain
Roads in Burke County, Georgia.
The Burke County Board of
Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing to
consider abandonment of any interest owned
by the County in the following roads: Francis
Avenue, Sycamore Drive, Elm Drive, Poplar
Drive, and Maple Drive. The Public Hearing
will take place at a called meeting of the Board
of Commissioners on October 24,2011 at 3:00
PM at the Burke County Courthouse at 602
Liberty Street in Waynesboro, Georgia. Said
roads are located in the Pineview Subdivision
and are more further described on a plat filed
on September 8, 2009 in Plat Book B, Page
481. Francis Avenue runs parallel with State
Highway 56 in a southwestern direction from
Bates Road along Blocks A, B, C and D of the
Pineview Subdivision. Sycamore Drive is
shown running in a southeastern direction from
State Highway 56 to Francis Avenue along the
southwestern portion of Block A of Pineview
Subdivision. Elm Drive is shown running in a
southeastern direction from State Highway 56
to Francis Avenue between Block A and Block
B of Pineview Subdivision. Poplar Drive is
shown running in a southeastern direction from
State Highway 56 to Francis Avenue between
