weekend begins this Saturday, July 30 and continues until
Sunday, July 31. During this two-day event, you can purchase
all clothing and footwear items that are priced at $100 or less
per item; computers and computer related items priced at
$1000 or less per item; and school supplies priced at $20 or
less per item. Refer to the following list to see which items will
be exempt from taxes.

A petition has been filed requesting that this property be annexed
into the City of Waynesboro. Following annexation, the zoning for
this property may be changed from unzoned (Burke County Zoning)
to I-2 (Heavy Industrial, City of Waynesboro Zoning). A public hearing
will be held at the City of Waynesboro City Hall Building, 628 Myrick
Street, Waynesboro, Georgia on August 11, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.
All those having an interest
in the petition shall be present.

The United Way of the CSRA will host the 8th Annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive in
Waynesboro on July 30 at Walmartfrom 9 a.m.-1 p.m. A Burke County school bus will be parked
in front of Walmart and all donated school supplies will be loaded on board. Cash contribu
tions are also welcome and will be used to purchase additional school items from Walmart.
One-hundred percent of the school supplies collected at this event will stay in Burke County to
help students in need start the new school year prepared. Parent coordinators will be available
inside Walmart to answer questions about the upcoming school year, and the Burke County
High School band will perform at 10 and 11 a.m. As a thank you for coming out to support
this event, free hot dogs and drinks will be handed out to everyone who contributes. For more
