goal of these matches is to get
game experience against tough
competition, with the hope of
strengthening the team’s mental
toughness and resolve.“Last
week's tri-match against two

The Lady Bears picked up a
win over Screven County (5-3)
in game one at Diamond Day

Coach Smoak was excited to
see the girls hold off Screven’s

the Lady Bears had already lost
a close one to them when the
season opened.
“Getting the win against
Screven was a big confidence
boost for us,” he confirmed.
Screven got a run in early in
the first, and one more at the top
of the fourth, but the Lady Bears
answered back with 4 runs.
Screven picked up 2 more
runs in the fifth, and 1 more run
in the final inning, but the Lady
Bears held off the final push to
claim the victory.
Offensively, senior Sara

senior Aubrey Mallard hit 4-2
with an RBI; and senior Grace

the mound for the first 5 innings,
followed by Mallard for the

giving Mitchell a chance to steal
home and score.
The Lady Panthers stepped
in strong, scoring 2 runs in the
first, 1 in the second and 4 more
runs in the third. Lambert made
it in at the top of the fourth for
the Lady Bears, but Glascock
