Members of Waynesboro’s Homeless Task Force gathered at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday to give back to
the community. The group served up hot plates of food and water and also offered a variety of clothing to those in need. The
next food and clothing giveaway will be held in December.

Haynes retires after 30 years of Army service
Chief Warrant Officer Five
Ronnie Ffaynes, a 1990 gradu
ate of Burke County Compre
hensive Fligh School, is retir
ing after thirty years of service
in the United States Army.
Haynes entered the army in
August 1990 as an Administra
tive Specialist. He attended
Basic Training and Advanced
Individual Training at Fort
Jackson, South Carolina. He
was appointed a Warrant Of
ficer in the Army in July 2003.
CWO Haynes has had vari
ous assignments abroad and
stateside in The Netherlands,
Korea, Fort Belvoir, Virgin
ia, Fort Hood, Texas, Fort
Jackson, S.C., Fort Gordon,
Ga., and Washington, D.C.
Chief Warrant Officer Five
Ronnie Haynes deployed to
Bosnia in 1996 and twice to
Iraq in support of Operation
Iraqi Freedom, 2004-2005
and 2009-2010. He concluded
his career at the Pentagon as a
Headquarters Department of
the Army Policy Integrator.
Chief Haynes is part of an elite
group of about 550 in the rank
of Chief Warrant Officer Five
and 1 of 15 within his specialty.
He was awarded the Legion
of Merit, Bronze Star Medal,
Combat Action Badge and nu
merous other awards through
out his career.
Haynes earned his Bachelor
of Science in Management
Information Systems from
National-Louis University
and holds a Master of Busi
ness Administration with a
concentration in Human Re
source Management from TUI
University. He is married to
Major Naquita L. Haynes of
Lincolnton, Ga. They have
one son, Christopher and two
daughters, Layla and My a.

His future plans are for a
start-up business (Consulting
and Real Estate) and investing
more time in community youth.
Blanchard retires
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office and local community came together last week to celebrate the
retirement of Chief Deputy Lewis Blanchard, following a career that spanned 30 years. Blanchard
was presented with a certificate from the FBI recognizing him for his many years of service in
law enforcement and was also honored by the City of Waynesboro with a key to the city. He is
pictured with Sheriff Alfonzo Williams, with whom he began his service to Burke County in 2016.

Probate Court Is addressing the
administration of a deceased
person’s “Estate,” A person’s
“Estate" consists property that
he/she owned, from farmland
and cars and businesses - all the
way to pictures on the wall,
tractors and tools.
Where docs it all go? What
happens to all this property?
Who Is supposed to get what?
These are the types of questions
that come straight Into the
Probate Court of Burke County.
As the Probate Court Judge, my
goal Is simple: to get things
done right - the first time! Do
you have faith that the |udge
actually understands the law,
and can perform this essential
Function. The Judge needs to
make legally “correct" decisions,
be fair to all concerned, and
make reasonable decisions.
As an attorney, I am a
professional problem solver.
