Once there was a legend of a creature lurking in the shadows. This creature was named Siren-
head. Four children thought this legend was fake, but they soon found that this was no myth. Their
names are Madison, Sam, Noah and Sawyer. Now let the story begin!
Sawyer was on the phone with Noah and they were talking about the legend of Sirenhead. “Yeah,
I don’t believe in this so-called Sirenhead,” Sawyer said. They both talked for about an hour and
then they went to sleep. Noah woke up to a scream. “Wh-what was that?” Noah said, looking
around. Fie didn’t see anything so he tried to go back to sleep.
Madison heard her mom scream outside in her apple held.
“M-mom?” she said and then another scream, but this time it was a scream of pain. Madison
freaked out and called Sam. Madison told Sam what she heard and Sam called Noah and Sawyer.
The three boys set off toward Madison’s house to investigate.
Noah told them that he heard her scream, too. They all went to the apple held, and then they
heard her voice.
“Mom!” Madison said, running to the noise. “Slow down,” said the others. They came to realize
that this was no mom; it was Sirenhead!
They all ran as fast as they could. They heard Sawyer scream and saw him get eaten. Soon after,
they found themselves lost in the forest.
“What are we going to do?” said Madison. They were all trembling with fear.
“We can’t leave Sawyer out there,” said Sam. Sam ran off to where he heard Sawyer scream.
“Sam wait!” said Noah, but he had already run off. Eventually, they caught up to him. They saw
him standing over something. They soon came to realize it was a pool of blood. Sam picked up the
book that was in the blood and read one part. “Sirenhead can mimic other people’s voices when
he eats them. Fie can also mimic radio calls.”
They all stared at each other until, “Guys, it’s me. Sawyer,” said Sirenhead. They were all quiet
until they heard it again.
“Guys please help me,” said Sirenhead. “We have to risk it you guys,” said Sam as they walked
toward noise.
“It feels a-a lot colder, doesn’t it?” said Madison.
“Y-yeah, it kind of does,” said Noah.
They continued on until Madison ran into some thing. “O-o-oh n-no!” said Madison as she got
lifted off the ground. “Guys help!”
But they couldn’t do anything and watched her get eaten. They heard bones snap, and they were
frozen in fear.
“We got to run,” said Sam as they ran away. “Come out! It’s the police,” said Sirenhead.
“Oh thank goodness!” They ran for the sound, but nothing was there and then “SURPRISE!”
said Sirenhead as he ate them both.
THE STORY OF THE MAGNOLIA MASSACRE
Isaiah Price

Once there was a boy named James Holland. He wasn’t scared of anything. He loved halloween
since he would always scare everybody in town, but one Halloween some other people named
the Crow family took his spot light. His mom told him as fast as a cheetah. She didn’t like that he
scared everybody in town. He said he was going to get them back.
Out on the quiet, pleasant Magnolia farm where the cows and goats grazed on the pasture lived
the Crow family. Or so they did, until the Magnolia Massacre happened 102 years ago. One day
in 1918, October 31 AKA Halloween, the Crow family Dan, Wade, Pinky, and Kiwi agreed to do a
haunted house theme. The spooky family did it to spook every human being in Waynesboro, Georgia.
Finally it was Halloween in Waynesboro. The streamers were strung and the fake spooky cob
webs were dangled on the windows. The spiders were tightly pasted to the house. The costumes
were prepared, but most of all the giant, orange, creepy, jack-o-lantem. The mouth was spiked
like a knife. The eyes were as dark as charcoal. Also the candle flickered in the wind making the
jack-o-lantern the scariest of all.
In the house little Kiwi was trying to fit her ghost costume that her mom Pinky made. Wade,
the son, was hiding from his dad because they were playing hide and seek. The mom Pinky was
cooking a delicious, scrumptious breakfast. After school Wade and Kiwi skipped home quickly.
They really wanted to trick or treat!, but that day when they got home their mom and dad were
acting abnormal. The children forgot, but every Halloween the parents turned into crazy delu
sional ghosts. They did these weird dances and were singing a little tune “when you come you
will find what really hides.” The kids thought they were trying to trick them, but they remained
outside until it was time to trick or treat. The mom and dad came outside, bringing the kids in
with the tune making them sing and dance. Most people came by and when they saw the Crow
family their candy rapidly descended to the ground and they ran. Do you remember the little boy
named James? He came and he wasn't scared. He walked right past the jack-o-lantem like it was
nothing. He didn’t even think about the decorations. He knocked on the door. POW! It opened
very quickly. Guess who was at the door? It was everybody in the Crow family still dancing and
singing weirdly. BANG! The dad grabbed him. The door shut. Some say he disappeared; some
say he is still alive. Most of all some say he is the new adopted person.
Every year they capture the one person that’s not frightened enough to knock on the Crow fam
ily’s house.
One day there were three monsters that wanted to make their own witch. They all worked to
gether and made Mr. J.K. They trained Mr. J.K. until they thought he would work with them to
take over the world.
The monsters and Mr. J.K. set off together. All of a sudden, “Boom!” a strike of lightning stmck
the witch! Now he was haunted by a spirit. The three monsters ran away. Mr. J.K. went into a
town and haunted all of the people there. Next, he and the people teamed up and went to search
for the monsters. The monsters had made it back to their castle. They created a spell that would
cause the witch to stop being haunted by the spirit.
Three days later, the witch and the people found the monsters. They gathered around the monsters,
and then Mr. J.K. ate them! The witch and the people then disappeared and were never seen again.

THE ICE CREAM MAN
Carson Hernandez
Fifth Grade
Faith Christian Academy
The year was 1995. It was the hottest day of the year, which
was strange for October. Jerry had a rough day at school. He was
a loner who lived with his mom and his grandmother.
Jerry and his mom moved in with his grandmother after his
dad went missing. His grandmother lived in a small town. The
neighborhood was nice. Kids would play in their yards and ride
their bikes down the street. From time to time, an ice cream truck
would ride down the street and stop.
One day after school, Jerry was riding his bike and heard a
familiar sound. It was the ice cream truck. It was a hot day, so
he yelled to his mom for money to get ice cream. She gave him
5 bucks for two scoops of ice cream.
As Jerry walked to the ice cream truck, he had a weird feeling.
At the window, he saw a big man with crooked teeth. He was
also missing a few of them. Putting aside Jerry’s weird feeling,
he decided to order anyway. The big man grumpily asked, “What
do you want?” Jerry told him, “Two scoops of rocky road ice
cream.” The man scooped up the ice cream, but Jerry noticed the
man was missing two fingers from each hand that were poorly
bandaged. Before giving Jerry his ice cream, the ragged man
asked, “You want the fixings?” Jerry said, “Sure!”
The man turned around with his back to Jerry and added the
toppings. When he turned back to Jerry, he noticed that more
teeth were missing, his bandages were off and one more finger
was missing. Jerry took the ice cream, but he started having
that weird feeling again. The man shouted at him to take a bite.
Much to Jerry’s surprise, the toppings were not sprinkles and
strawberry syrup. Instead, they were crushed teeth and blood!
Following his strange feeling, Jerry dropped the ice cream and
ran back to his house.
