The City of Sardis events
committee agrees — the show
must go on!
Though things will be dif
ferent this year, committee
member Angela Allen says
Christmas in Sardis will con
tinue with most of its home
town traditions.
To kick things off, the fes
tival begins Saturday morn
ing, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m. with the
opening of its vendors’ booths.
More than a dozen are already
signed up to sell goods and
food during the day, and Allen
encourages the community to
come out for some shopping to
find that perfect gift. Vendors
will be open until 3 p.m. For
more information or to register,
contact Allen at 706.526.5138
or angelatucker73@yahoo.
com. There is no registration
Ms. Russell to wed Mr. Nelson
fee to participate, and the dead
line is Tuesday, Dec. 1.
At 6 p.m. the City will hold
its tree lighting ceremony com
plete with Christmas carols and
free hot chocolate and coffee.
Anyone wishing to perform
should contact Sheron Allen at
706.551.0830.
Unfortunately, Allen says
the annual parade will not take
place this year.
“But despite all the uncer
tainty due to the COVID-19
pandemic, one thing remains
certain,” she says. “The love
we have for our community is
strong, and we will enjoy each
other’s fellowship during this
holiday season.”
