still swinging on vines in our
middle-aged years.) As kids,
none of us were disabled play
ing Tarzan.

OBITUARIES
Joseph Robert “Joe” Law, Sr.
Joseph Robert “Joe” Law, Sr. of Millen, GA passed away
on Sunday, January 24,2021 at the age of 70. Abeloved hus
band, father, grandfather and friend to
many, his love for his family was his
greatest joy.
A native of Millen, G A, he was born
on April 15, 1950 to the late Wilkes
Aiken Law, Jr. and Carolyn Palmer
Law. Joe graduated in 1968 from
Jenkins County High School and later
attended Middle Georgia College in
Cochran, Ga. He was a member of
Habersham United Methodist Church
where he taught Sunday school for
twenty plus years and served as Lay Leader. He was a lover
of Georgia Bulldog Football, an avid gardener and an amazing
cook. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball and
his granddaughter dance and perform gymnastics. For the last
twenty plus years, he enjoyed working alongside his brother
in law, Walter Bragg, at Millen Auto Parts.
His greatest childhood memories included spending sum
mers at St. Simons Island with his parents and sisters and later
serving as a counselor at Athens Y Camp for many years. Joe
was a wonderful athlete in high school and proudly wore the
number 12 for the Jenkins County Eagles. On June 14th, 2020,
Joe renewed his 50th wedding anniversary vows with his high
school sweetheart, Carolyn. Joe loved the Lord and he loved
sharing his testimony.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, W. A. Law, Jr. and
Carolyn Palmer Law. He was also preceded in death by his
sisters, Lyn Law Day and Palmer Law Ellsworth and a brother
Wilkes Aiken Law, III. Survivors include his wife of 50 years,
Carolyn Sapp Law, daughters Paige Law (Robert), Leslie Law
Williams (Jason) and son Joseph Robert Law, Jr. His grand
children held a special place in his heart. He was fondly known
to them as “Joe Joe”. They are Frank Alton (Trey) Black, III,
Wilkes Aiken Black and Bella Grace Williams.
On Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. visitation will be held at Burke Memorial Funeral Home.
The funeral services will be in the chapel of the funeral home
on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside ser
vices will follow at Magnolia
Cemetery, 703 West 6th Street,
Waynesboro, GA

including masks and distancing.
