Betty Anne Quick
David W. Lowe
Robert Lee Anthony, Sr.
Betty Anne Quick, 86, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday,
March 16,2021, at her residence. She was bom on November
22, 1934, to the late John Davis and
Mildred Adams Burks. Betty was a
wonderful, sweet, kind, and faithful
pastor’s wife for over 50 years and
served beside him on the mission
field in Brazil for two years. She was
also a pianist and played for many
churches over the years. Betty loved
to do acts of service such as cooking
and feeding other people. After their
retirement from the ministry, she co
owned Leonard Quick Builders in
Augusta, GA. Betty was a present member of Midville First
Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a brother, Harold Burks; and a sister, LouEllen
Burks Stinson.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Quick of Midville;
three sons, Terry Quick of Milledgeville, Ga., Earl Quick
(Patty) of San Antonio, Tex. Gerald Quick of Newnan, Ga.;
a daughter, Glenda Quick Cox (Daryl) of Midville; a brother,
Charles Burks of Newnan; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grand
children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March
20 at Bark Camp Church with the Reverend Daryl Cox and
Reverend Terry Quick officiating. Burial followed in the
church cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior
to the service. Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Women’s Missionary Work (WMU) please make any desired

Alice May Carter Auvenshine Martin
Alice May Carter Auvenshine Martin of Waynesboro,
Georgia, entered into rest March 19,2021 in Longview Texas.
She was born on June 21,1925 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
to Robert Lawson and Josephine Celestine Irving Carter.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leroy
Martin, retired army. Also, proceeded in death by three sons,
William M. Auvenshine, Robert A. Auvenshine and David M.
Auvenshine. She was also preceded in death by four of her five
brothers as well as two sisters James Edward Carter, Robert
Lawson Carter Jr., John Little Carter, William Henderson
Carter, Lillian Ashley North, and Sarah Marie Becton.
Living most of her life in Waynesboro, Georgia, Mrs. Martin
worked and retired from Samson Industries as a seamstress.
She later worked at Thomson Hospital as an attendant. She
was of the Methodist faith. She was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
Helping to raise and care for numerous grandchildren as well
as an animal lover, who always spoiled her pets! Mrs. Martin
loved to make dolls, sew, read, and cross-stitch and was a
wonderful cook for friends and family. While Mrs. Martin
resided with her granddaughter Talia, spouse Jeff and family
in Montgomery Texas, and had many adventures together,
she passed visiting family doing what she loved the most,
welcoming her newest great-great grandson into this world
in Longview Texas.
Mrs. Martin is survived by a brother Tracy Mackenzie
Carter his spouse Sara of Waynesboro Georgia, a son Richard
M. Auvenshine of Waynesboro Georgia, and daughter in law
Karen Auvenshine of Martinez Georgia.
Grandchildren: Celestine Talia Auvenshine Baker her spouse
Jeffery of Montgomery Texas, Christopher P. Auvenshine
of Greer South Carolina, Danielle Denise Auvenshine her
spouse Anthony McIntosh of Martinez Georgia, David Mark
Auvenshine II his spouse Pamela of Waynesboro Georgia,
Craig Garrison his spouse Meredith of Hiawassee Georgia, and
Krista Motes her spouse Thomas of Mooresburg Tennessee.

nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Walton Bud North II, Ronald M. North,
Donald D. North, Glenn Auvenshine, Gilbert Baker, and Ben
Carter.
Honorary pallbearers are Christian Hillis, Cameron Black,
Shane Kaney, Bill Hammett Jr, Danny Becton and Jimmy
Becton.
The visitation will be held at Burke Memorial Funeral Home,

David W. Lowe, 61, of Waynesboro, passed away on
Saturday March 20, 2021 at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta.
He was born on October 24, 1959
to the late Herbert and Mary Ann
Burch Lowe. David was an Industrial
Painter for the Painter’s Local 1756
union, and was given the nickname
“Pops” by his work associates.
He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs,
Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR fan.
David attended Green’s Cut United
Methodist Church.
He is survived by his two brothers,
Allan Lowe (Teresa) of Mobile, Ala.
and Dan Lowe (Sharon) of Waynesboro; sister, Pat Burns
(Brad) of Clarkesville, Tenn.; and a very special cousin, Teresa
Spires of North Augusta, S.C.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednes
day, March 24, 2021, at Burke Memorial Gardens with the
Reverend Jerry Sharpe officiating.

Sarah Hunter Fail
Sarah Hunter Fail, 70, entered into
rest Monday, March 22, 2021. She
was bom in Waynesboro to the late
Corrine and John Hunter. She loved to
play BINGO and enjoyed sitting under
her tree. She loved her grandchildren,
great grandchildren, and her two dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband,
Ernest Fail; and five brothers, Charles
Hunter, Floyd Hunter, Grady Hunter,
Paul Hunter, and Herbert Hunter.
She is survived by three children, Sharon Smalley (Donald)
of Hephzibah, Ernest Fail, Jr., of Waynesboro, and Elizabeth
Gray of Augusta; six grandchildren, Estela Vizcaino of Co
lumbia, SC, Samantha Fail of Augusta, Rebecca Vizcaino of
Augusta, Anthony Fail of Columbia, SC, Jesse Phillips of Au
gusta, and Megan Phillips of Augusta; 13 great grandchildren;
two sisters, Grace Johnikin of Thompson and Linda Gay of
Waynesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, March 24 at the funeral home. Graveside Ser
vices will be held 2:00 p.m. at Burke Memorial Gardens with
Bernard Martin officiating.

Thelma Lariscy Harron
Funeral services for Thelma Lariscy Harron, age 65, who
passed away on Tuesday March 16th, 2021 at her residence,
will be held on Saturday, March 27th, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Visi
tation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 p.m.
The service will be held at the Burke Memorial Funeral Home
with the Rev. Mike Dann officiating.
Survivors include one daughter, Brandy Lynn Harron,
Waynesboro; two sisters, Shirley Jackson, Claxton, Ga., and
Betty Larson, Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers, Otis Lariscy,
Lakeland, Fla., and Omar Lariscy, Jr., Sylvania, Ga.; four
grandchildren, Nicole Harron, Waynesboro, Ga., Bubba Moss,
Waynesboro, Ga., Tiara Dixon, Millen, Ga., Stormy Anderson,
Claxton, Ga.; and several great-grandchildren. Included in sur
