BURKE EMA REPORT
The Burke County Emergency Management Agency re
sponded to 233 patients’ calls during the two-week period
ending May 23. Of those, 159 resulted in transports, includ
ing 95 to Augusta hospitals and two to other out-of-county
hospitals. Seventy eight of the transports were determined
to be emergencies and 81 were non-emergent.
The agency also answered 37 fire-related calls during the
period. They included two brush/grass fires, three outside
waste/trash dumpster fires, 14 rescues, three vehicle fires, one
fire/smoke alarm, one gas leak, two woods fires, six public
service calls and five unspecified calls.
