Mrs. Maggie Owens Rountree, 98, Ward Street, Waynes
boro, Ga. departed this life Tuesday, January 11,2022 at her
residence.
Graveside Services will be
held Saturday, January 22,2022
at 12 noon at Jones Grove Bap
tist Church, 182 Hickson Road,
Midville GA.
Public viewing will be held
Friday, January 21, 2022 from
3:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Maggie was born in Burke
County to the parentage of the
late Charlie Owens and Amy
Edora Thomas Owens.
Her faith was grounded in the
Lord and she attended many
churches including Jones Grove Baptist Church, Midville,
GA but was a very devoted and faithful member of Blount
Chapel Baptist Church where she also served as "Mother of
the Church", Deaconess and Willing Workers Club.
On December 21, 1937 she married the now late Willie
James Roundtree.
Maggie was a loving homemaker but for several years
worked at Jefferson County Hospital.
She was a member of Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Order of
Eastern Star where she received a Life Membership on June
14, 1999; Matron and Past Matron of Nathan Chapter #194
that later merged with Daughters of Wadley, GA where she
served as Chaplain. As long as she was able Maggie enjoyed
every moment at the CSRA Senior Citizen.
She is preceded in death by her husband and five children,
Sophronia Rountree, Mary E. Jenkins, Martha Rountree,
Ulysses Rountree and David Roundtree.
She leaves to cherish her priceless memories, her children:

Roundtree, Waynesboro, GA, Jonathan Rountree, Balti
more, MD, Willie James Battle, Perry GA, Daisy R. Brown,
Waynesboro, GA, Amy R. Flournoy, St. Petersburg, FL,
Carrie (husband-Robert) Evans, St. Petersburg, FL, Maggie
R. Jenkins, Hephzibah, GA, Ella (husband-Matthew) Sims,
Louisville, GA and Cora Rountree, St. Petersburg, FL; God
daughter, Lena Farrow; Godson, Jayron Gresham; Long time
friend, Marie Jones; twenty three grandchildren, 120 great
grandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, nieces,nephews,
cousins and other relatives and friends.

tered into eternal rest on Monday,
January 17, 2022. He leaves to
cherish his loving and devoted
family and friends.

Services for Mrs. Robin Vaughn Schweitzer were held
Monday, January 17, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Johnson Chapel
Holiness Church in Treutlen
County. Burial was in the church
cemetery. Reverend James Salter
officiated. Mrs. Schweitzer died
Friday, January 14,2022.
Mrs. Schweitzer, 57, was the
daughter of the late Bobby Dean
& Phoebe Smith Vaughn. She
was born on January 20,1964 in
Spartanburg, SC. and attended
Savannah College of Art &
Design. She was the owner of
Schweitzer Art Glass Studio in
Waynesboro, Ga. for over 30
years and was named as one of the “Ten Best Stained Glass
Artists in the World”.
She had been a resident of Waynesboro for the past 10
years and was the Chairperson of the Waynesboro Historic
Preservation Committee and a Methodist by faith. Her sister-
in-law, Lynn Wicks, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Walraven of Waynes
boro; son, Michael (Rebecca) Walraven of Martinez; two
daughters, Jancie (Blake) Key of Savannah and Lisa (C.J.)
Jones of Atlanta; brother, Bill Vaughn of Clarks Hill, SC;
mother-in-law, Evelyn Walraven of Savannah; brother/sister-
in-law, Jon (Tammi) Walraven of Soperton; brother-in-law,
Dean Wicks of Warner Robins and five grandchildren.
Higgs Funeral Home of Soperton had charge of arrange
ments.

Mr. Charles Ed Mobley, age 69, of Orangeburg, South
Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 14,
2022. Graveside Services will be
held Saturday, January 22,2022,
11:00 a.m. at Bell Grove Baptist
Church Cemetery, 1970 U.S.
Hwy. 25 South, Waynesboro,
Georgia 30830.
Visitation for the immediate
family will be held Friday, Janu
ary 21,2022 from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
and public viewing will be held
from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Phinazee
and Son Funeral Home, 404 West
8th Street, Waynesboro, GA

for Mr. Charles Ed Mobley.

required and social distancing will be
enforced at the funeral home and the

Mr. Tannie Smith, Jr., age
47, of Atlanta, Georgia, entered
into eternal rest on Sunday,
January 16, 2022. Funeral ar
rangements will be announced
at a later date.
James Troy Hollingsworth, Jr., aged 72, died Friday, January
14.2022 at Brentwood Health and Rehabilitation in Waynes
boro, Georgia after a long illness.
Bom in Millen, Georgia April
18 1949, he lived in and around
Burke County, Georgia for most
of his life. He worked as a mo
torcycle police officer for the
Athens, Georgia Police Depart
ment for several years before
moving to West Virginia and
Texas as a sales representative
for Fleetwood. In 1984, he was
hired as a road deputy for the
Burke County Sheriff’s Office
by Sheriff Greg Coursey; the
sheriff named him Chief Deputy
in 2002. He worked closely with Sheriff Coursey for nearly
thirty years before retiring in 2015.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mary Pryor Holling
sworth and Rev. J. Troy Hollingsworth of Sardis, Georgia and
his sister, Joan Hollingsworth of Hinesville, Georgia.
He is survived by his sister Jean Johnson of Fernandina,
Florida; his son James T. Hollingsworth III (Traci) of Sardis,
Georgia; his daughter Dr. Sarah E. Hollingsworth of Still
water, Oklahoma and his grandchildren Hayden Whitaker,
Rachel Hollingsworth, Michael Hollingsworth and Troy
Hollingsworth of Sardis, Georgia.
His quick wit and compassion for everyone he met will
certainly be missed by his friends in Burke County and his
favorite vacation spot, Belle Bluff, Georgia.
Graveside Services were held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, January
18.2022 in the Sardis Baptist Cemetery with Harry Coursey
officiating.
Active Pallbearers were Alvin Floyd, Ricky Varnadore, Tra
vis Sturdivant, Jut Wynne, Johnny Edmonds, Sonny Bargeron
and Greg Coursey.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Brentwood Health
and Rehabilitation for their care of Mr. Hollingsworth and
donations in his honor can be made to the Guido Evangelistic
Association, P.O. Box 508 Met-
ter, Georgia 30439.
