OBITUARIES
Nan Bargeron Buxton
William L. “Bill” Usher, Jr.
Nan Bargeron Buxton, 79, entered into rest Saturday, Janu
ary 22,2022. She was born in Millen and has been a lifelong
resident of Burke County. She was a member of the Sardis
United Methodist Church. Nan retired from MCG after 30
years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents,
L.S. and Lois Bargeron.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wayne Buxton;
two daughters, Lynn Murray of Sardis and Dana Lawson of
Daniel Island, SC; three grandchildren, Mary-Lynn Penning
ton of Statesboro, Ben Lawson of Charleston, SC, and Luke
Lawson of Charleston, SC; and a brother, Steve Bargeron of
Waynesboro.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January
28 at Burke Memorial Gardens with Rev. Roy White and Rev.
Steve Sirmons officiating.
Remembrances may be made to the Sardis United Method
ist Church.

William L. “Bill” Usher, Jr., 69, of Waynesboro, passed
away on Saturday January 22,2022. He was bom on January
25, 1952, to the late William Luther Usher, Sr., and Sarepta
“Tippie” Usher. Bill was a graduate of Waynesboro High
School, and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
He was an avid hunter and fisher, and enjoyed playing the
guitar. Bill was a member of Green’s Cut United Methodist
Church. He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving are his daughter, Brandice Powell (Travis) of
Waynesboro; mother, Sarepta “Tippie” Usher of Waynes
boro; brother, David Usher (Brenda) of John’s Creek, GA;
granddaughters, Leslee Whaley (Matthew) of Hephzibah, and
Marisa Powell of Waynesboro; grandsons, Austin Powell,
Trevor Powell, and Travis Powell, Jr. all of Waynesboro;
great-granddaughter, Caroline Whaley of Hephzibah; and
nephews, William P. Usher of Charleston, SC, and Jackson
D. Usher of Atlanta, GA.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday
January 26,2022, at Burke Memorial Gardens with Reverend
Jerry Sharpe officiating.
Memorial contributions may
be made to Green’s Cut United
Methodist Church.

Joann was a faithful member
of Smith Grove Baptist Church
and an outstanding employee
of AU Medical Center for more
than twenty-five years.
She is survived by her chil
dren; Jasmine Ramsey and Don
nell Ramsey; father, Charleston
Kelley, Jr. (Rebecca); sisters,
Keitcha Kelley, Charlotte Kel
ley; brothers, Charleston Kelley
III, Timothy (Tumeka) Smith,
Corey Lear, other relatives and
loving friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 29,
2022, at Smith Grove Baptist Church, 374 Waynesboro Hwy,
Wrens, Ga. Masks are required to attend the service and view
ing . Public viewing from 2 to 6 pm Friday, January 28,2022,
at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road.
