Jackie D. Harper
Edwin Thomas Drew
Willie “Pee Wee” Lawson
and lifelong resident of Burke
County. She was a member of the
First United Methodist Church
in Waynesboro. In addition to
her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, W.H.
“Dub” Harper, Jr.; and her daugh
ter, Lynn Harper.
She is survived by her son,
William H. “Dub” Harper III
(Cindy); and two granddaughters,
Jennifer Harper and Katherine
Harper.
Graveside services were held at
3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27 at Burke Memorial Gardens
with Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating.

Jackie D. Harper, 83, entered into rest Tuesday, January 25,
2021. She was a daughter of the late Louise Porter and Clar
ence DeLoach and was a native
Kermit R. Weaver
Kermit R. Weaver, of Waynesboro, Ga, age 83, beloved
husband of Jo Weaver, was called home from labor to be with
his Lord and Savior on January
25, 2022. He was bom on Octo
ber 3, 1938.
He was a native of Sylvania,
Ga and a resident of Burke
County since 1961. Kermit re
tired from Perfection-Schwank
after 43 years of employment.
He then became a bailiff for
the Burke County Sheriff’s De
partment, where he served for
another 10 years. He had many
hobbies which included fish
ing, making cane syrup, sports
(especially Braves baseball and
Georgia Bulldog football) and bird watching. He was also a
professionally skilled wood worker and carpenter who hand
crafted furniture, bird houses and many other items. His faith
in God was strong so he joyfully served as a nursery worker
and Deacon at Rosemont Heights Baptist church for many
years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother,
grandfather (Papa), and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Ruth
Weaver; and two brothers, Gene Weaver and Lewis Weaver
of Sylvania, Ga.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jo Weaver; two
sons, Tim Weaver (Penny) of Perkins, Ga. and Randy Weaver
(Debbie) of Douglasville, Ga.; four brothers, James Weaver
(Lillian) of Sylvania, Bobby Weaver (Trish) of North Carolina,
Norman Weaver of Sylvania, and Billy Weaver (Sue) of Syl
vania; two sister-in-laws, Teresa Weaver and Deanna Weaver
of Sylvania. Kermit is also survived by four grand-children,
Cassady Weaver of Douglasville, Will, Matt, and Jessy Weaver
all of Perkins; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott
Funeral Home on Friday January 28,2022 at 3 o’clock p.m.
with Rev. Wes Lawson officiating. Rev. Mike Flowers pre
sented a scripture during the service. Burial followed at Burke
Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral
home two hours prior to the service.
Pallbearers were: Will Weaver, Matt Weaver, Kenny
Weaver, James Weaver, Chip Weaver, Gary Weaver, Wayne
Weaver and Ted Weaver.
Honorary pallbearers were: Tommy Hitchcock, Bycel
Daniels, Thomas Daniels, Kenneth English, Tony Gay, Bobby
Glisson, Danny Godbee, Dickey McClellan, W.H. Reddick,
Jerry Richardson, Mike White, Robert Williford, Edward
Thomas, Charlie Hillis, and Hank Weaver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
Rosemont Heights Baptist Church.

Mr. Shannon Bernard "Too Hard" Johnson, age 38, of
Waynesboro, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Thursday,
January 27, 2022. Graveside

February 5, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at
Pines Cemetery, 711 West 6th
Street, Waynesboro, GA 30830.
Visitation for the immediate
family will be held Friday, Febru
ary 4,2022 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
and public viewing will be held
from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Phinazee

Mr. Edwin Thomas Drew, 86, the son of the late Burwell
and Mollie Drew, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday,
January 26, 2022, at Keysville
Nursing Home. He was a native
and lifelong resident of Burke
County and was retired from
Swank Incorporated, after many
years of service. He was a mem
ber of the Sons of the Confeder
ate Veterans.
In addition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by his
brothers, John D. Drew, B.J.
Drew, Jr.; and his sister, Melonae
Drew.
Surviving are five nephews
and two nieces.
Graveside services will be 12 noon Saturday, February 5,
2022, in the Midville City Cemetery with Pat Dye and Rev
erend Randy Caraly officiating.

James Norton Edwards
Mr. James Norton Edwards, 61, of Swainsboro passed
away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his residence following
an extended illness.
Mr. Edwards was born No
vember 13, 1960, in Millen to
Sylvester Edwards and Vonnie
Arnsdorff Hunter. He was pre
ceded in death by his parents and
brother, Ricky Allen Edwards.
Mr. Edwards loved working on
small engines and spent his free
time sitting around, smoking a
cigarette and drinking a beer. He
was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
Mr. Edwards was a true friend
and was always willing to help
anyone in need.
Survivors include his brother, Clifton Edwards of Coving
ton; sisters, Mary Tanner of Swainsboro, Susan LaRiviere
of Augusta, Sharon Hunter of Thomson, Tammy Moody of
Ellijay; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January
27,2022, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Mr.
Cameron Kennison officiating.
Interment followed at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.
The family received friends from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Thurs
day, January 27,2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Brian Hunter, Zach Hunter, Kris Berry,
and Josiah Bartlett.
