Summer camps to address self image /MAT’S NEXT?

The annual week-long
summer camps sponsored by
Board of Education member
Ruby Saxon Myles will begin
June 27 at four locations; The
Charles Walker Building in
Keysville, First Baptist Church
in Gough, Noah’s Ark Mis
sionary Baptist Church and the
Midville Community Center
The classes run from 10 a.m.
to 1 p.m. and include lunch.
This year, educators will ad
dress social emotional learning
and the loss of learning due to
the pandemic, along with life,
success and learning to live. In
response to rising suicide rates
amongst children 5 to 11 years
old, curriculum will include
the students drawing sketches
of themselves and addressing
feelings about their self image.
“We were all created by the
same Creator and you have to
appreciate yourself,” Myles
said.
Applications for the free
summer programs are avail
able at the Keysville City Hall,
Midville City Hall,Noah’s Ark
Missionary Baptist Church
and the First Baptist Church
in Gough.

The Burke County Board of Education will destroy all student
records relating to Special Education Services for individuals
who will attain the age of 22 on or before June 30,2022. These
records will be destroyed after Friday, August 26,2022. Anyone
wishing to recover his/her personal records before they are de
stroyed may call the Student Services Office at (706) 554-6306
to schedule an appointment for pickup.
Fun Day
Concerned Citizens of Midville hosted Midville Fun Day June
4. The free event included bouncy houses, cotton candy, sno
cones, food and music.
Gold Award
Waynesboro Rotary Club president-elect Beth Grant re
cently accepted the “Gold Award” from Assistant District
Governor Billy Franke of Augusta. The award is in recogni
tion of the programs and activities sponsored by the club
during 2021 -22.

Sealed bids shall be received until 10:00 A.M. Legally Prevailing Time, on July 13, 2022 at the offices of the Owner.
At that time all bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals submitted by mail should be addressed
to the Owner at the address set out above and plainly marked as indicated in the “Instructions to Bidders.” All proposals
submitted by mail will be collected at the above mentioned mailing address at 9:00 A.M. Legally Prevailing Time, on
the day mentioned above and taken to the offices of the Owner. There they will be opened.
The work for the above referenced project consists of, but is not limited to
1. Development GA06P086017 - One (1) Dwelling Unit: Complete interior renovation including replacement of
all wall and ceiling finishes; replacement of floor finishes; replacement of kitchen cabinets; replacement of closet
shelving; replacement of all interior and exterior doors, frames and hardware; cleaning and reinstallation of
security window screens; replacement of all plumbing fixtures; replacement of electrical wiring devices, and
fixtures; and cleaning of heating systems. Cleaning of exterior brick; preparation, priming, and painting of
exterior rails and posts. Restoration of yards where damaged by construction activities.
Electronic copies of all Bid Documents, including Drawings and Specifications maybe obtained by prime contractors,
subcontractors, or material suppliers, from the Owner.
For construction and equipment contracts exceeding $25,000 a bid guarantee equal to not less than 5% of the bid amount,
and complying with the requirements of Clause 9 of form HUD-5369, "Instructions to Bidders for Contracts - Public and
Indian Housing Programs" as modified by the “Supplementary Instructions to Bidders” (both of which are contained in
the Project Manual), shall be submitted with each bid. Bid Bonds must be executed on the form included in the Project
Manual. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory assurance of contract completion in
accordance with Clause 10 of the above referenced form HUD-5369 as modified.
No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the
Owner.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding.
