Burke County Outdoor Climbing Lab
The Burke County Bears are rising to the top with their newly
constructed outdoor climbing lab. Recently, Burke County
High School, Jefferson Energy Cooperative and Planters
EMC worked together to help build a pole climbing station
for students. BCHS’s technology instructor, Mark Flowers,
orchestrated the pole climbing lab for his students. The ad
ditional learning module creates a safe space for students to
learn about agricultural careers such as electrical engineering
and linemen training. It is the beginning stage of what will be
the first hands-on climbing lab at a high school in the CSRA.
