Donald Silas was arrested
Monday, October 31 for pos
session of methamphetamine
and criminal trespass after
admitting he had stayed at an
abandoned home on Blythe
Road “off and on” for the past
year.
Owner Ted West told depu
ties days earlier that no one
had permission to reside at the
home and informed them that
he wanted to prosecute anyone
found on the property.
Deputies found Silas exiting
the front door as they arrived
at the home. When deputies
went to retrieve a jacket from
the house, they noticed meth
amphetamine located on a
piece of burned aluminum foil,
along with a lighter and a straw
located next to an air mattress.
Also, located in the same room
was a plastic bag containing a
white powdery substance.

Joeskii Mims attempted to
keep Burke County Sheriff’s
Office Narcotic Unit out of a
Tucker Avenue residence by
barricading a door with a steel
bar while he attempted to flush
crack cocaine down the toilet.
During an ongoing inves
tigation, the BCSO learned
that Mims sold cocaine at the
Tucker Avenue home. While
observing Mims flushing co
caine down the toilet, and
after several attempts to enter
the home on November 3, the
BCSO made entry and addi
tionally found Mims dropping
a golf ball sized rock of crack
cocaine into a white five gallon
bucket in the hall outside the
bathroom.
Mims was taken into cus
tody without further incident
and charged with possession
of cocaine with the intent to
distribute and a felony charge
of tampering with evidence.
Deputies were able to re
trieve a portion of the cocaine
from the bucket for held test
ing.
In a separate incident, Larry
Donnell Walker Sr. was ar
rested for possession of co
caine with intent to distribute,
possession of a controlled
substance and a felony charge
of tampering with evidence
November 4.
The Narcotics Unit obtained
a warrant after it was learned
that Larry sold crack cocaine
and codeine pills from his
Magnolia Acres residence.
Upon entering the home,
deputies witnessed Larry at
tempt to swallow a dollar bill
containing crack cocaine. He
complied when officers di
rected him to spit it out. Larry
D. Walker Jr. was also arrested
with possession of cocaine
with the intent to distribute
and possession of a controlled
substance after officers found
him with a large amount of
money in his pocket.

Moss is the grandfather of
toddler Quinton Simon who
went missing from his Cha
tham County home October 5
with his mother, Leilani Simon
as the prime suspect.
While Chatham County law
enforcement officers continue
to search for Quinton, it is
widely suspected that the de
ceased toddler’s remains may
be located at the landfill.
