The Georgia Bureau of
Investigation was looking into
accusations that include claims
that Sheriff Alfonzo Williams
falsibed records.
An investigation stems from

Jenkins completed required
law enforcement classes last
year through the Georgia Peace
Officer Standards and Training
Council (P.O.S.T.).

The Waynesboro Police
Department refuses to explain
why the Georgia Bureau of
Investigation was called in to
look at the training record of
former officer Gary Jenkins.
In a Facebook post February
21, Sheriff Alfonzo Williams
explained that a recent GBI
investigation stems from
him mistakenly uploading
an incorrect date pertaining
to training that Jenkins and
Deputy Coroner Mary Bennett
received through the Burke
County Sheriff’s Office in
December. However, Bennett
said Monday that no one from
the GBI has contacted her.

In a turn of events
completed early Tuesday
morning, the decision to shut
down Brentwood Health
& Rehabilitation has been
reversed.
Four families connected to
the nursing facility industry
formulated a partnership
recently just to purchase
the Brentwood facility. Mid
Georgia Health Properties is a
combination of the Windham,
Davis, Westbury and Orne
families. All of the families are
names associated with family
owned, long-term care facilities
across the state with some of
their operations beginning as
early as the 1950s. The Orne
family is currently the operator
of the Keysville Nursing Home
& Rehab. The Windhams
currently own and operate
four long term and/or assisted
living facilities in Georgia,
according to spokesperson
Spencer Windham. Uniquely,
every entity involved is a
third generation nursing home
operator.
