own white ribbon and pinned it on
the lady, saying, “Now you are in
deed one of us.” In conversation
with the lady a few days since, she
said. “What a magical power that
little white ribbon has! I put it away
among my precious keepsakes, but
the next week wc were at an enter-
taitment where Roman punch was
served. Of course I declined it, but
I was not prepared to see my hus
band do so. I asked the reason
when wc were alouo, and he replied:
“That little white ribbon which you
value so highly kept me from it.”
“We have dedicated ourselves to
the holy crusade against rum.”
“We're going to put legs on all the
jugs and demijohns in Georgia,
and run them out of the state.”
