Ordinance No. 342.
: An ordinance to authorize the

whether or not the said city shall
issue bonds in the sum of Forty
Thousand Dollars, (3$40,000.00)
for the purpose of raving tertain
portions of Pine street, Sheridan
street, Main street, Johnson
street, Sherman s:reet and Cen
tral avenue, in said City; to pro
vide for the opening of the Reg
istration Books for the purpose
of registering the qualified vot
ers for said election and to pro
vide for holding said election and
other purposes.
See. 1. Be it ordained by the
Mayor and Council of the City of
Fitzgerald and it is hereby or
dained by the authority of the
same that the mayor of said city
be and he is hereby instructed to
call an election for the purpose
of submitting to the qualified!
voters of said city the- question!
whether or not the city shall is-{
sue bonds in the sum of Forty
Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00)
for the purpose of paving thel
following portions of the follow
ing streets, alleys and avenues,!
to-wit: Central avenue from thei
alley lying between Thomas and!
Sheridan streets, running West
along Central avenue to and a-}
cross Johnson street beginning
at the point where it intersects
Central avenue on the East,
thence North Johnson street to
the A. B. & A. R. R.; Pine street
from the point where the present
paving of Pine street terminates,
East along Pine street to and a
cross Sheridan street, thence
Sheridan street North to Central
avenue; Main street from the

that said bonds to be issued shall’

Thousand Deollars (31,000.9 C
!each and shall bear interest at|
the rate of five per cent. per an
num, said interest to be due and
payable semi-znnually at some
bank or trust company in New
York; said principal and inter
est to be payable in gold eoin of
the United States of the presexnt
weight and fineness, none of said
bonds to become due cr be paya
ble until the thirtieth vear after|
the date of their issue; all of said |
bonds to become due and be f”al-i
1y paid within thirty years from!
the date of their issus.
' Sec. 3. Be it further ordained
that said election shall be held
in the form and maoner and b‘y,

same rules and regulations that|

ers of said eity for said bond
eleciion and he is hereby in

dzy of April, 1912, until and ir
cluding the 2nd day of May, 19-
12 at six o’cloek P. M., at which
time said books shall be closed
and said clerk shall submit the
same to L. L. Griner, Burr Stok
oe and C. A. Miller, members of
the couneil of said city, who are
hereby 2appointed a committee
for the purpose of purging said
list of the names of those per
sons who are not legally qualified
> vote at said election, and the
szid committee shall determine
in accordance with Section 33 of
the Charter of said eity as pub
lished in the Acts of 1907. page
623, who areand who are not
qualified te vote in the said elec
tion and they shall complete their
duties five days before said elec
tion and deliver the said revised,
list to the clerk of said city who
shall prepare a list of the regular
voters and furnish it to the man-*
agers of said election in accord
ance with Sec. 33 of said Char
ter, |
Sec. 5. Be it further enacted
that those persons desiring to
vote on the said issue of bonds
shall have written or printed on
their ballots for voting at said
election, the words, ‘For Bonds’
and those desiring to vote 3-
gainst the issue of said bonds
shall have written or printed on
their baliots. the words, ‘Agains:
Bonds’.
Sec. 6. Be it further enacted
tiat the resuit of said election
shall be determined in the form
provided in th=said City’s Char-
Ler. “ i

that all ordinances or parts of
ordinarces in conflict w'th this
srdinance be and the same are
hereby repealed.

passed this the Sth day of April,
1912.
