“The peace monument movement is
to be revived by the commttee of the
Blue and Gray, who have had this mat
ter in charge. Ata preliminary meet
ing last Friday it was decided to hold
another meeting Friday, January 28th,
to perfect the organization. The
meeting will be held at W. R. C. hall,

DELIGHTFUL LUNCHEON
AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.
The ministers of the city were the
honored guests at a delightful lunch
eon Tuesday afternoon given by the
young ladies of the Eight grade in the
Domestic science department of the
the school.
Misses Mavis Paulk and Ariel Wall
presided with grace and dignity and
the guests were gracefully served by
Miss Rosa Lee Patterson. The table
was softly lighted with candles and
decorations of flowers and souvenirs
were tastefully arranged. Dainty hand
painted place cards were at each
plate. The menu consisted of

After luncheon the ministers re
quested of interviewing the cooks
and had the pleasure of visiting the
kitchen, where they were introduced
to a bevy of charming cooks and were
shown an up-to-date sanitary kitchen.
Miss Geddes, the instructor, de

ciency of her department, and the
community is to be congratulated on
having such a useful and practical de
partment in the school system.

of this city, is here for a visit to old
time friends. For several years he
was Warden of the penitentiary of
Chiriquie, Panama. He has been in
the government service most of the
time. He was assigned to duty in the
Philippine islands, but refused the
postition.
