ated in patriotic colors of red, white
and blue, Quantities of oleander and
other flowers were used in suggest
ing the color scheme,
Fruit punch was served during the
evening and an ice and salad course
was served at a late hour. Dancing
was a diversion of the evening with
Victrola music,

'FOR RECENT BRIDE
Mrs, Preston B. Seanor a recent
bride was complimented on Friday
afternoon when Mrs. John B, Sea
nor entertained with one of the hand
somest receptions of the summer
season, at her home on South Main
street, - e
The pretty home was never more
attractive than on‘this occasion when
many potted plants, palms and ferns
placed about the rooms and quanti
ties of flowess bringing out the color
note of yellow and white were ar
tistically arranged throughout the
rooms. The reception room where
the receiving line stood was a ver
itable bower of loveliness .The stair
way was twined with vine and little
white ‘flowers which formed a lattice
work.
The bride’s wedding gifts were on
display and were gorgeous, The sil
ver was arranged in the living room
and among this was a chest of silver
and beautiful baskets and every piece
of silver to delight a bride. The cut
glass was arranged in the breakfast
room and the handpainted china in
the dining room. Every utensil nec
essary to furnish a kitchen was on
display the bride having received this
at a kitchen shower.
Those in the receiving line were
Mrs. John B, Seanor, hostess, Mrs.
Preston B. Seanor, and three other
lovely summer brides, Mrs. Carl
Fellars, Mrs, Mark E. Mathis and
Mrs, J. C. Bush who wore beauti
ful wedding and reception gowns, -
Mrs. C, M. Wise received the
guests at the door and Mrs. George
E. Ricker registered them in the
bride’s book then presented them to
the receiving line, ;
Mrs, J. H. Benton invited them to
the dinning room and Misses Ath
leen Dickey, Grace Benton, Eulalie
Dorminy and Margaret Wise served
punch from a prettily appointed ta
ble in an alcove off from the dining
room, Those assisting in the dining
room were Misses Dorothy Cass,
Hazel Mayes, and Mrs. Jo ML
Luke who served white brick ice
cream with golden hearts moulded
in the center and angel food czke,
Misses Athlgen Rohrer and Thel
ma Dorminy had charge of the nus
ic.
About eighty guests called from
5:30 to 7:00 o’clock.

at their lovely little home on West
Magnolia street, Friday evening,
The color scheme of yellow and
white was carried out throughout the
house. Tables were arranged for
progressive games at the conclusion
of which the young men engaged in
unwinding the cob web to find the
lucky number for the last game,
Little Miss Inez Leath furnished
lovely music on the Victrola during
the evening. Little Misses Evelyn
Harris, Mildred Johnston and Mas
ter§ Lyman Thurston and Bob As
tin served delicious refreshments,
consisting of frozen fruits and cake
with attractive favors of yellow can
dles in rose bud holders on each
plate.
Punch was served throughout the
evening by Mrs, H. A. Mathis.

During her short visit in the city
Mrs. Almonte E. Jones was enter

and an interesting game plaved. Mrs.

venir of the afternoon. At the close
of this game a delightful ice course

into the dining room where they were
served with sandwiches, fruit and tea.
