it is thought, fatally wounded a
negro in Athena on Weduesday.
Mr, White claimed that the negro
cursed and threatened him and at
tempted to draw ,a pistol, and he
shot in self detense. In this young
White is borne ont by eye witness
es, who state the young man did
nothing to provoke the difficulty.
After the shooting young White
went to police headquarters and
gave himself up t ) the officers.
He has been firing on thev
