Georgia Money for
Georgia Manhood -
Is the slogan of the financial
Campaign of the State Y. M. C.
Oct. 20-30. The stote quota
0 f” this campaign is $70,000.
'The money raised in this cam
paign will be spent wholly in
Georgia and for the benefit of
our Georgia boys and men, of
whom there are over four hun
dred thousand in the state.
The genius of the Y. M. C. A
is its work with the boys and
young men in the development
of Christian character, and its
emphasis on all the round de
velopment of the young man, in
body, mind and spirit.
For seventy five years the Y. M
C. A. in America has devoted
itfelf to this high task and to
day more than ever is earnestly
carrying on its program in the
interest of the boys and young
men of the nation. As evidence
of the peculiar fitness of the Y.
M. C. A, for this task, is the
fact that today from every na
tion in the world has ccme the
call to extend Y. M, C. A. work
to that nation. From the new
republics, Poland and Czecho-
Slovacho from Italy and France
and even Turks have asked the
Y. M. C. A. be established in
every hamlet between Constan
tinople and Bagdad.
In Georgia the extention pro
gram of the Y. M. C, A. to
which the money raised in this
campaign will be devoted, in
cludes a special work among
the colleges and secondary in
stitutions of learning in the
state-a work’among the boys in
the high schools of the state,
and a work for rural communi
ties where there is now no type
of work reaching the young
men and boys.
This work has no relation to
the war work of the Y, M. C. A
and none of the money contribu
ted in any of the campaigns of
the war could be devoted to
work, even if there were such
moneys available for this pur
pose’
Every dollar contributed in
this campaign is an investment
in manhood, and the good peo
of the state are cordially urged
to lend their cheerful co-opera
tion and assistance in the name
and for the sake of the boys
and young men of Georgia, ■
