Landers and chil dren are here this week attend ing the Chautauqua, Miss Roberta Hitchcock at tended the Cnristian Endeavor meeting at Maxeys the first of this week. Miss Edna Cheatham spent the past week-end at home, Mr. Frank\)jincan,cf Athens, visited his sister, Miss Mary /Duncan, here last Sunday. The Coautauqua closed Wed nesday evening. All the pro grams were good and the atten dance was very good. A con tract was made for its leturn in 1920, The Hallowe’en party at the school building Friday evening was enjoyed by ail present. Contests and games suggestive of Hallowe’en were the princi pal features. Mr. and Mrs. Eob Graham were in Athens Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs- W, M. Davis and Miss Selma Blackwell were in Commerce Thursday. Miss Leuise Rice, of Colbett, spent last week-end with Mrs. vViley Davis. Messers Cleo Griffith and Howard Gordon have been at tending Feeeral Court in Athens this week. Next Sunday, Nov. 9th, is the last Sunday for Rev. M. A. Franklin to prerch here before attending Conference. He has. been here four years and has served U3 faithfully and well. Everybody come out and hear his last sermon. Mrs. A. M. Scarborough of Cos mer visited relatives here last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs, W- G. Hansford of Arnoldsville spent Saturday here. Mr. Eugene Huff of Gibson- Mercer spent the week-end at home. Miss Willie Mae Tolbert of visited in Athens last Friday,!
