Why Is A Headache?
Various Caused for this
Common Affliction
Anemia or Bloodlessness
a Very Common Cause
Pepto-Mangan overcomes
Anemia and Tends To
Prevent Bloodlessness
When one has an oecasiona
headache it is* usually due to
come transient or passsng cause
such as indigestion, eye-strain,
over-tiredness, etc. When, how
ever, one suffers frequent peri
obic headaches there is always
some special reason for it. A*
mong the most common of such
reasons is Anema or Bioobless
ness. This condition is especially
frequent among girls and voung
women and those whose occupa
tion or habits of life keep them
too much indoors The one im
portant necessity in such cases
is to builb up the quantity and
quality of the weak and watery
blood. Gude’s Pepto-Mangan is
exceptionally valuadle for this
porpose. It increases the number
and improves-the quality of the
red blood cells, those vital little
bodies which nutrition to all
parts of the body. It improves
the appetite, imparts color to
the face, and restores health
and strength to the body gener
ally. After a short course of
Pepto-Mangan the headache de
crease in frequency and severity
and finally disappear, if they
are due to Armenia. Pepto-Man
ga may be had either in liquid
or tablet form as preferred.
Whed baying Pepto-Maffgan be
sure the name "Gude’s” is on
the package. Without Guee a
it is not Pepto-Mangan.
Keep Well
Do not allow the
poisons of undigested
food to accumulate In
vour bowels, where they
are absorbed into your
system. Indigestion, con
stipation, headache, bad
blood, and numerous
other troubles are bound
to follow. Keep your
system clean, as tnons
ands of others do, by
taking an occasional dose
of the Old, .reliable, veg
etable, tenuiy liver medi
cine.

Compulsory School Attendance Law
The Compulsory Attendance Law for the Madison County
schools for this scholastic year began Nov, 24th, to include 20
days before the holidays.
The Legislature last summer put it up to tire county to en
force the law or to lose its public school fund. The law was
greatly strengthened and provision was *ma de for . its ) enforce:
ment. It was amended by raising the time from four to six
months and to the completion of the seventh grade. It also made
il obligatory on the County Board of Education to appoint an at
tendant officer to see if the law is being enforced.
It has not been the intention of the Board to disregard the
law the past two years and an effort has been made as to its en
forcement but the winter 1917-1918 was unusually bad during the
Compulsory months and on account of “Flu” the past winter it
seemed almost impossible to enforce same.
So if there are any children in the county within the ages 8
to 14 not in school, we ask that they be enrolled at once. If for
any reason your school is not in session and if you live within 3
i
miles of another school, send to your nearest school, as the law
will not excuse yon gtherwise.
It is the duty of the i>eople of the county to obey this law as
it is any other law of the State, and we trust that every one will
do his part in the carrying out of this law.
