We are sorry to report' that Mr.
Frank White, Jr., is suffering from
an attact of pneumonia. His many

daughter, Mrs. J. A. Davison, of
Selma, Ala., the past week.

December 12, ISS4 we gather the

principal of Danielsvilie High School
and he announces that a competent
assistant would be mployed when
necessary. Quite different from the
present. Now we have six teachers
and they have about ali they can do.
Anew election for county officers
was to take- place the first Wednes
day in January, 1885, and in the an
nouncement column we find the fol
lowing articles:

County Surveyor, Thos. W. Long,
County Treasurer John E. Gordon,
L. H. McEi'nannon, Tax Collector .1.
W. White; Tax Receiver John F.

Rev. D. F. Rutherford, who had
been in charge of the Methodist
churches on the Danielsvilie circuit
for two years had been transferred
by the conference and Rev. T. J. Ed
wards had just been assigned this
work.
Rev. W. F. Stark of' Harmony
Grove was pastor of . the Baptist
church here at that time, but they
had no building. They held their
meetings ir. the Presbyterian church.
Rev. D. F. Rutherford had filled the
Sunday appointment previous to
this issue, Rev. Stark having been
prevented from coming on account
of high water.

trip to Athens Saturday.
Misses Darline Butler, Maude
Thompson and Bertha Gunner were
the guests of Misses Ellen Carithers
and Ethel McDavis Saturday.
Misses Ellen Carithers, Maude
Thompson and Ethel McDavis made
a business trip to Colbert Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Carithers spent
Friday night with Mrs. Nona Smith.
Misess Darline Butler and Ethel
McDavis were the guests of Misses
Maude Thompson and Bertha Gun
ner Sunday.
The dance given by Mr. John Ca
rithers Saturday night was enjoyed
by a large crowd.
