ROSEGIVERS
[
Some are givers of roseje
Unto the lives that need
The vital gift of beauty,
The gift of the rosy creed.;
And some are only receivers,
To whom the roses are brought
in the flower of a golden loving
And the creed of a tender thought.
I want to belong to the givers,
Who give the rose* of life
To soften the sword of the ffiei
And to leiteen the blow of the
strife;
To make the way of twy brothers
A sweeter way than it see-ras,
Because of the laughter and courage
Of roses born of our dreams.
Some are briugers of sunshine,
And others are makers of cheer
And there’s always a lot of them
needed
In the life we are living here.
Most of us know of the shadows,
And most of us walk in the night,
And the world is glad for the makers
Of paths to the hills of light.
I want to belong to the legions
That strow where others must toil
The blooms of the fragrant roses,
The fruits of the fertile soil;
And I guess we are one, my bvothexs,
In this comradeship of desire,
For the things that are lifting others
To the life the world calls higher.
