DR A. j* PAYNE DIED SATURDAY
Prominent PUyrician of Fort Lemar,
Madiroo County, Died Satwrdaj night
following Short lilnes*.
Dr A. L. Fayrte, prominent Madison
county physician, died ai a local hos
pital at 10 o’clock Saturday night.
He had been ill only three days, lit
was 85 years of age.
Dr Payne was born in Carnosville,
Ga., Franklin County but resided
at Fort in Madison county

physicians in North East Georgia,
and numbered his friends in this sec
tion by the thousands.

he is in the active practice of Medi
cine. Both are weil known iocaliy
and throughout the State.
! Funeral services and interment will
be announced lates, it was stated
Saturday night. Dr Payne was a
j member of the Methodist Church.

widow, Mrs Lucy Trella Payn , two
sons, Prof. W r . O. Payne of Athens,
and Dr. Dewitt Payne of Fort Lamar

MR OTHA DAVID DEAD

! age. His health has been bad fo'
| more than a year but he was acutely
j ill only about 16 days, he was a rnt-m
--! ber of the Presbyterian Church and

: country. Although rather ’-etiiing
and recluse in his habits lit health
he had a cheerful easy disposition
and could always see the funny s ~c
t of things. He loved the beautiful in
| nature, always loved flowers, and bis
mother said that e v cn when a little
child, he always wanted to be clean
and neatly dressed, and did not dis
play the distate for cleanliness that
the average small boy shows. .His
last years have been peculiarly sad
because of hi3 failing health and hi3
physical inability to conduct the rath
er large business which his large in
