MRS CHARLES ROBERTSON
An event of social interest was
the Tea Tea given by Mfrs R. C .
Griffeth on last Saturday P M. in
lovely compliment to her sister Mi’s
Ch,-Ivies Robertson of New York. The
handsome home thrown hospitably
open for the occasion was artistically
decorated with spring floweks ar
ranged in cut glass vases.
The tea table, in the dining room
was overlaid with a handsome hand
embroidered liner cov<J.\ and held an
exquisite silver tea service and cut
glass comports holding mints and
dates.. Mrs R. C. Griffeth in ’receiv
ing her guests wore a becoming mod
el of Crepe-de chine, Mrs Robertson
a lovely gown of nile green crepe
simply fashioned with black velvet
and jet beads.
Mrs Griffeth was assisted in enter
taining by Mrs J. N Griffeth and
Mr& and Mrs J. T Murray. After
a very pleasant social hour a deli
cious salad course was served .

ANTI-SPITTING CAMPAIGN
Richmond, March 19. - For the
past week tht office of the Virginio
Tuberculosis Association has been the
headquarters of ar active campaign
throughout the State against the
disease spreading habit of spitting
in public places
In an effort to create a disgust on
| the part of the public against the rpac
j tice of spitting or, floors and side
I walks. 120 letters have been written
■ and 6.707 placards. 15,000 copies of
I Section 1550 of the Code of Vir
ginia are being distributed.
