Hodges, the body retired tj their
room to transact just such business
might cotnc before the body.
The time set to meet at 9:00 o’-
clock A . M . and adjourn at 1 hour
lor noon hour and to adjourn at 4:00
o’clock P. M. runtime. The fallow

ported to bo in good condition; 3rd,
Thy hogs, 14 in number, are in fine
shape; 4th, The quarters of the four
inmates of thy farm wete in good
condition and they were found to be
adequately cared for; sth, We find
the new stock barn at the county farm
to be one of the best barns in the
county; The waterworks svjytoni in
tfood condition-- the supply of water
being derived from an excellent
spring.

In regard to the jail, it is noatlv kept
•'is far ns the Shot iff is able to do.
VN e find that one <>f the cell -doors
cannot be locked and that the sher
ff has no way to.separate the whites
from tlu blacks, and we recommend
that the county commissioner have
this door fixed at once so it can be
locked, and that thee he water kept
there at all time- so the Sheriff can
keep it in a sanitary condition.

This bemg the regular time to ap

Disti iet 438, we recommend that C.
W. Dean be appointed.
This being the regular time to ap
point N. P. & Ex. Off. J. P. of Grove
Hill District 282, we recommend that
M. P. Brown be reappointed.
The jury adopted and approved
the report made by commissioner D.
R. Freeman, “placed on record by
auditor Hart.” and be made a part
of these presentments marked exhibit
“A”. We commend him for the eco
nomical way in which he conducts the
financial affairs of the County.
We the committee appointed to ex
amine the records of the Clerk’s and
Ordinary’s office, submit the follow
ing report; Ist, That the records of
the Clerk’s office are i n excellent
conditions and neatly kept*. Further
more, we commend the Clerk for in
stalling the loose leaf record system .
2nd, The records of the Ordinary's
office be in splendid condition and we
also commend him for installing the.
loose leaf syubem. And that the
county at large should take piide in
the records of both of the offices, as
they are being kept.
We, the Grand Jury, adopt the re
port made by Mr. Hitchcock and rec
ommend that it become a part of
tl o presentments and referred to as
exhibit R. We commend him for the
nice way in which ho does his work..
The Grand Jury adopted the report
from Superintendent David in regard
to the Schools and also recommend
that his financial report be attached
to.the presentments and marked Eu
