Parliamentarian-Mrs J S Dau #l Auditor -Mrs W S Sanders, After all old and new busi ness was disposed of our Pres ident gave the club members such splendid talk on our duty and work for the year 1924-25- We feel that with the hearty eo-operation of the club officers and different committees that our fonrth year of existaoce should prove to be the most profitable of all. The Woman’s Ciub fcaa tried! to be and we feel has been a £reat help to our town and com uvjnity, and with the help of those who do not belong; to the dub. we hope to be abie to grow und able to do greater things. We urge everybody who ts tot a member to join us and help the club to accomplish much in the future. La mar spent the week-end here with her parents, Mr and Mrs Frank Graham. On Sunday June the Sth at Bishop Ga. occurred the mar riage of Miss Selma Blackwell to Mr Thomas Tumbui Rev. Mr Burson officiating. Tne bride has lived here most all her life and her many friends wish for this couple a most pros perous sojourn thru life. She has many beautiful traits of Chaaaccer and has always been admired by all who knew her. Mr Tumbbl is enargetic and prosperous farmer of Oconee County and he is to be con graiuiated on winning such a raai help meet. Mrs Addie Brooks attended the marriage of her daughter. Mr John Ed Ramioli returned returned Sunday from a visit to his grandparents, in Lacon ia, Mr and Mrs Malovis, Mr and Mrs Styles Blackwell, Mr. and Mrs Cecil Blackwell, Dr. and J S Daniel. Mr ami Mrs B W Blackwell attended the BlackwoH-Tumbui wedding Sun day Bishog Sunday afternoon. Mrs B J Meadow and little son of Atlanta are spending the week with her mother, Mrs T F Landers. Mrs B N White and Mr Theron White are visiting Mr and Mrs B N Whita Jr in Ashville, N C. MISS LUCY MEADOW IS HOSTESS AT LOVELY PARTY An enjoyable atfair of Thursday evening of week was the lovely party given by Mias Lucy Meadow at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mr:i. W. D. Meadow. Quantities of lipring flowers in silver baskets, bowls and vaser were effectively used throughout the houae and the table in the hall where punch was served by Miseoci Sarah Lou Bullock, Kathleen Scarberough and Virginia Moseley was beautifully decorated with pink and white Dor ochy Perkins rooses. The home presented a faeinating scene with the illumination of bright colored Japanese lanterns. An interesting eotitesit and many games were cgjeyed, and attractive prises awarded the “lucky ones,’’ Assisting the hostesr in entertain ing were her mother, ijlrn. W. D. Meadow. Mrs. Will D. Graham and MrsS. D. A. Motley- Trie color motif of pink and white war carried out in the ices and cakes which were served at a late hour. About 30 guest* were inviited to en joy her hospitality. IS MEMORY OF COLUMBUS RUSSELL SCAIBORO Oi> last Tuesday night about nine o’clock the Death Angel visited th > home of Mr. and Mrs. (A. R. Scar boro and carried away their little non, Columbus! Russell. Oh, bow sad it was to give him up but God lcrew best. He bad been sick several days* and during all his sicknoss he was sk> pa tient for the physician and parents to do what they saw needed be done. He bad alwav& been a loving child and was loved by all who knew him. He was three years of age A pril 22, 1924 He is survived by has father and mother and two brothers and a host of relatives and friend* to mourn his deuth. Bless this little one, we don’t have to study about where be is gone, because we know that he. was one of God's little May God ble-s this family that they 1 may see him again some sweet day by and by. He surely was a sensi ble little boy. He was laid to rest at Pleasant Grove. Farewell, parents, I am going to Leave this world of sin and woe. Going home to live with Jesus Over on the other shoro.
