NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR BONDS FOR COLBERT SCHOOL DISTRICT, MADISON COUNTY, GEORGIA Colbert, Ga., .July 30th, 1924 On this day, the trustees of Col bert School District met in regular meeting. There were present the following trustees: G. L. Laden, Miles Collier, W. S. Lowe, H. H. Hampton and L. A. Herring, con stituting the entile Board of Trus tees . A petition was presented to the Board of Trustees of said Colbert School District in and for the Coun ty of Madison and State of Georgia, which petition is signed by more than one-fourth of the registered qualified voters in and for said School Dis *?ict as determined by the registered voters therein, which petition is now of file in the office of the Board of o’stee • of said School District and vv'-iich petition requests that this Hoard ca’! an election to determine ite question of whether or not bends shall be issued by said School District ' far the building and equipping of a I school building in and for School District, to fix the amount in w-hich said bonds shall issue, the denomina . tion thereof, the rate of interest i which said bonds shall bear and tho dates and place when due and the time and place for holding said elec tion . Collier, it was rtsolved and ordered by said Board of Trustees for said Colbert School District that an election be held in and for said School District at the Court House in Colbert, Georgia, in saitl School District, on the 2nd day of Septtmber,, 1924, during the legal hours for holding election.- in said School Distrut for County Officers, for the purpose of determining the question as to whether bonds shall be issued by said Colbert School District for the purpose of building and equipping a school house in and for said District. It was further resolved by the said Board of Trustees that the a mount of bonds to be voted on ahull be fi 17,500.00; the rate of interest which said bonds shall bear shall be 6 per cent, payable annually, begin ning on the first day of February, 1925, and on the first day of Februa ry of each and every year thereafter until said bonds shall have matured and shall have been paid; one of said bonds in the denomination of $500.- 00 shall mature on the first day of February in the year 1925, and one bnnd in the sum of $500.00 shall mature on the first day of February in each of the following years: 1926, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1935, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944. 1945, 1946, and 1947; and one bond for the sum of $100(|.00 shall ma ture on the first day of February in each of the following years: 1948, 1949, 19g0, 1951, 1952 and 1953; said bonds shall be made payable at Madison County Bank in Colbert, Georgia, a.nd at such other place as may be hereafter determined by the Board of Trustees of Colbert School Distriit; all of said bonds shall bear interest from the date thereof at the rate of 6 per cent per annum, payable annually, on the first day of February in each year while said bonds are outstanding and unpaid, beginning in the firsit day of Febru ary, 1925. The ballots to he cast in said elec tion shall have printtd or written thereon “For School House’’ or “A gainst School House”. It was further resolved and or dered that the foregoing order and resolution be entered on the minutes of the School BjPard of Trustees of the Colbtrt School District; and it was further ordered and resolved that the .same be published thirty days before said election in the Dan ie’sville Monitor, a newspaper in which the Sheriff’s advertisements of Madison Cnunty are published; and that notice of said election be publisheh by posting said notice at th*-ee public places in said School District ten days before said elertion as required by law.
