COMER SCHOOL BUILDING OVERCROWDED Our attention is called to the fact that our school building is full to overflowing with nice bright-eyed pupils and that some additional seat ing capacity and room is necessary. REVIVAL SERVICES AT BAPTIST CHURCH Revival services iwilk begin next Sunday morning with the Comer Bap list church and continue through the following week. There will be two services each day, one in the morning at 11 o'clock and one in the evening at 8 o’clock. Mr. A. E. Logan, the pastor will do the nreaching. The singing will he conducted bv Mr. W. Several ladies from Comer assisted in organizing a Woman’s Club here Monday afternoon. The following officers were elected: Mrs. A. Mr. Mathews, President; Mrs. F. L. Mar tin, Vice-President; Mrs. W. J. White head, Secretary. We carnc very near having a seri ous accident here Sunday night; Mr. Oricn Porterfield of Comer drixing Ford and Mr. Gaines of Elberton driving Buick had a head-on collision overturning Mr. Porterfield’s car, catching him and his father under it. Both cars were badly damaged but as usual the large car got the worst end of the battle. We are certainly glad to state that no one was badly hurt. , Rev. W. K. Carswell and family were called to Augusta Sunday on account of the death of Mr. Cars well’s brother’s wife. They have our deepest sympathy in their hour of sorrow and bereavement. CARLTON LADIES ORGANIZE WOMAN S CLUB In response to an invitation, Mrs. J. W. Gholston, accompanied by Mes dames S. J. Carmichael, A. M. Wil kins, J. D. Thompson and C. B. Ayers, motored to Carlton Monday afternoon to meet with the ladies of that place to discuss with them the organization of a club. Mrs. Howard Long called the meeting to order, and ashed Mrs. A. W. Mathews to introduce Mrs. Ghol ston which she did most gracefully. Mrs. Gholston gave in a thorough way an outline of the w T ork done by the Woman’s Club, and the part it plays in Community affairs, calling upon each one of the Comer ladies to give some phase of work done. The Carlton ladies voted unanimously to organize a Clu|r that afternoon, and with Mrs. Gholston as presiding offi cer the organization was completed and the follsiVinil' officers elected: President —Mrs. A.
