Notice To The Buying Public
Due to conditions over which the people have no control, it has
been necessary for this Bank like many others to have a lot of farm
lands sold under execution in order to comply with the State Banking
Laws, and in many instances the lands have been bought in for much
less than its fair market value, and in other instances the buying public
have had an idea that it wfould do no good to bid at such sale as the
Lien holder would buy it any way, as their liens would amount to mjore
than many otherwise buyers could rake in 'ash, thereby making such
sales while legal in every way, in many instances unfair to the defend
ant in execution, *ad otherwi e tending to demoralize the price of
lands.
This bank has advertised for sale as plaintiff in fi fa to sol<K on
the first Tu< :-<lay in December before t> < -ourl hou-e d< or />f Madison
County the tract of land known as the L. If. Seagraves farm, a full de
scription you can see from reading the Sheriff’s Advertisemient ol this
tract of land, this farm is well located and improved, and in order to
make said property bring its fair market value, this Bank will loan to
any solvent purchaser as much a- twenty dollar ptir acre on this farm
and give to the purchaser ten years to repay said loan, making the pay
ments in ten annual payments with the interest payable annually.
From this time on this Bank expects to adopt the policy as set. out
above, until conditions adjust themselves and lands got back to their
fair value. There can be no better or safer investment than good farm
lands at reasonable prices, ami the people to buy lands are the people
who work it. Bankers are not farmers and for this reason we have adopted
this policy in order to help the fiermer.
