I* CARLTON * We Have been having fine weath er for hog killing and there have been many fine porker* killed in our com munity. Mis:- Rogers, one of our efficient teachers, spent the week-end with home folks in Comer. Miss Elizabeth, Thomas spent Thanksgiving and the remainder of the week-end Athens. Messers M. D. Chafin, F. I-. Martin, J. >G. Rice, Bill Eberhardt and Allen Glenn attended the Ga.- Ala. foot hall game in Birmingham last Thursday. Messers Dan and Benjamin Witch er were in town Friday afternoon. Mr. Claude Smith and family of Bogart spent Thanksgiving with Mr!, and Mrs. W. W. Power. Messrs Harold Wynn and Walter Long were i Athens Thursday af ternoon . Miss Katherine Bradford spent the week-end with home diolks. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Long of Hartwell spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Moore and family. jt 41 The tourists were inconvenienced very much by having to detour a round near Newtown on account of a licwbridge being constructed over X’ork creek below town. Carlton Sunday School voted unan imously to have a Christman tree. Mrs. .7. H. Wynn spent Thanks giving with her sisters, Misses Addie and Pink Deadwyler and Remained over the week-end returning to her school duties at Canton Sunday af ternoon . Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Power and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Smith. Mr. W. M. Chafin and son, Cor nelius, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Chafin. Prof. C. G. Stevens has returned home from Ashville, N. C. much im proved in health to the delight ot his many friends. Mrs. J. H. Carrouth has been indisposed for several days, but we sire glad to report her bttei?.
