One of our popular young men had quite a thriling experience late ly so we are told It seemed, he went to carry his best girl to a box supper and when he found out she had company they invited the four old maids to go with them and fo course they accepted and made a safe trip. But wm suppose the young man must have been badly agitated over the Buss the old maids kept up in the, rear end of the car flor he left in a hurry when he pot rid of his load and run in a ditch and like to have turned over before he got out 'of sight of the house, and ha/1 to go back and get all the young and old maids too, to help him out, as it seemed all the other boys ,had hid out. We have been told that the reason he ran in the ditch was that he was looking back so a fraid some of the old maids were after him. We are glad to state however he did by the hardest l,ve through it all, and has promised all these old maids to put them a present on the Christmas tree. Now if any onR doubts th-s being more truth than jokes just ask Jim Patten or Weldon Porterfieid and they can tell the rest. Quite a large crowd enjoyed the singing hy Mr and Mrs. Will Irvin Sunday night. We are expecting the wedding bells to ring several times in Mt. Zion community before the new year comes in.
