VERY SUCCESSFUL REASON
We as a team wish to thank each
and every citizen for his loyal sup
port rendered during the recent
Basket Ball season.
We feel that considering our shov •
ing made last year, oi'.r past season
has been a marked success, in that
last year we won a very small per
cent of the games played. This year
we are able to say that we’ve been
defeated only 6 out of 20 High
School games. We are also able to
say we’ve won from every team we’ve
played this season at least once.
Our marked success has been very
largely due to the excellent coaching
by our much honored coach, Lancas
ter. Last year was our first year of
real Basket Ball and it took that for
us to get the proper experience
needed to accompany our coaching.
Another great asset was that we
were not ashamed of our appearance
n those handsome Purple uniforms
donated by you loyal citizens (which
was appreciated beyond expression)
that gave us an incentive to fight
harder for a viotory than we would
have otherwise.
We believe that old C. H. S. will
have as good team next year as the
one was this year from the fact
that Coach Lancaster lias been very
wise in inserting thlK.second string
whenever possible, to give them the
experience neefessarv for .moulding
a splendid team next year. The old
regulars in Lewis Evans, Eldridge
Graham, Hugh Groves, Shelby Wil
liford, and Lawrence Seymour will
be missed some hut their shoes will
he ably filled by Harry Carithers.
Robert Eberhardt, Hal Power, Skin
ny Seymour Eldridge Barnett & oth
ers.
We have not won every game we
have played hut we have- one of the
cleanest teams in this section in
that only 3 players were put out on
personal fouls during the entire sea
son. Everywhere we have been,
we have been praised for our clean
sportsman like playing. This clean
play can greatly be attributed to
our coach who believes in nothing
but clean sport and fair play.
Let us again express our deepest
appreciation for the support render
ed by you loyal citizens and we hope
you will continue to back us up as
we go into the Base Ball Season and
on throughout the years.

How many successful farmers do you know
