Master Rubl Blackwell spent the week-end with his parents at Rut ledge, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eskew of Canon, Ga. announce the arrival of a baby girl on April 7, to he called Margaret Ann. H. L. Echols is progressing nicely with the bungalow he is erecting on rear of his lot on North street. Mr. W. D. Meadow spent Thurs day in Savannah attending the Coun ty Officers Convention, which is an annual eveat of much interest and pleasure.. Mrs. J. T. Gholston left Friday for Atlanta tor an extended vKt to her daughter, Mrs. Sam Lunsford. Mr. B. C. Settles was her e for ft while Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Olaude Meadow and baby were visiting their aunt, and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Kidd and grandmother, Mrs. Ella Maddox, Sunday. Judge B. T. Moseley drove Mrs. Moseley over to Athens early Friday morning to meet a specialist who is treating her for Rose Fever and near the Clarke County line had a puncture. Judge hurriedly changed casings and seated himself for the journey and shortly after was se z ed with an attack of acute indiges tion. Jas. Gordon happened by and drove him to Mrs., Murray’s who summoned a physician who immedi ately called for an ambulance and carried him to St. Mary’s hospital, where after careful nursing he sur vived and is now able to be at home arriving here late Monday afternoon. He had a close call. Chief Mc Cann on and Homer Da vid of Comer were here a while Monday afternoon. Serb Hardman and Sewell fe"- mour were with us a short while Monday. We went down to the town spring yesterday and found the most .good water going to waste —just running out the spout and trickling away. We got a dinper and drank all we could and couldn’t stop it, so got a bucket and it soon was overflowing ®fid still didn’t stop. So we began to think of the number of people who were missing all that good wa ter and then wondered if there would be soma way to interest our fellow townsmen to spend a little en ergy and soma money and make that a beautiful place where all could come, lounge around and enjoy this good water. 1 Miss Kathleen Snellings was here with home folks last week end, re turning Sunday afternoon to be ready for her teaching duties Mon day morning. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Jenkins were here Monday, on a shopping tour. Vandiver is a good farmer and has everything in readiness for plant ng* when winter breaks. We are sorry to state Mrs. L. E. Greene who is at General Hospital, Athens, was not doing so well first of the week. However the baby boy seems to be bouncing alcag very nice 'y- , vine Atty’s Moore and Adams were in Comer Saturday on legal business. Deloney Gunnells and Aquilla Carter, two progressive farmers from near Neese were here first of week. H. H. Hart was here Tuesday. Frank Glenn and Gr.s Maddox were here Tuesday. We were glad to see these substantial fellow?. t). Jones was here Tuesday and tells us he has some more good wheat on the way. Oscar Bridges another good far mer from Mill district was here for a while Tuesday. Uncle Tom Ed Fortson was with us a while on Tuesday. Rev. and Mrs. M. C. Allen were in Athens Saturday. They were ac companied by Miss Jones. Mrs. Fannie Lee Gholston and aughter, Fay, spent th e past week end with relatives in Comer. Mrs. Eugene Huff was in Athens on last Saturday. Miss Reba Thompson was the guest of Miss Edna Cheatham of Hull Saturday and Sunday. EASTER CHICKS Danielsville, Georgia, Friday, APR, 10, 1^25 The Georgia Press Association will make a voyage, Savannah to New York and return following the mid year session in Savannah, April 25th on board the new steamship City of Chattanooga of the Ocan Steamship Cjompany. The City of Chattanooga, the finest ship in coast-wise service, has accomodations for 204 passen gers and it is expected that every place will be taken by association members and their families. The ship has just recently been built for the Ocean Steamship Company and embodies every luxury and conven ience of modem travel. It has a large music room, restflul lounge rooms, spacious dinipg room and large staterooms, its facilities being as good as thase of the large ocean liners. The ship will sail from Savannah, Saturday, April 25th, at 3 P. M. and arrive New York Tuesday, April 28th at 6 A. M. After two and a half days in the city the return voy age will be starred at 3 P. M., April MRS. ROACH WEDS RALPH S. AARON Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dean an nounce the marriage of their daugh ter, Mrs. Myrtle Dean Roach, to Mr. Ralph Steven Aaron of Macon, Ga. The ceremony was performed by Rev. S. E. Wasson, D. A wonderful program of entertainment has been mapped out for New York, including a re? ception to the party by Mayor Hylan, a trip around New York harbor, a breakfast ori board the world’s larg- 1 est steamship, the Leviathan, a visit to Oyster Bay, a dinner and theatre party tendered by the American Presa Association and other lunch eons and dinners to keep the party busy and happy. New York head quarters will be at the Waldorf-As toria Hotel. President Rountree and Secretary Stanley report a large advance list of reservations and this mid-year convention and outing promises to be one of the best attended in many years. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. By SATTERFIELD DANIELSVILIE WOMAN’S CLUB MEETING The Woman’s Club of Danielsville met Wednesday, April Ist at 3:00 o’clock in the new Club room, with the president in the chair. The usual business was brought up and the following nominating com mittee: Mrs. R. C. Gritfeth, Mrs. J. N. Boggs, Mrs. N. C. Bullock, was appointed to submit the names of the new club officers at the May meeting. The next meeting being the 4th birthday of the Danielsville Woman’s Club, it was decided for the club members to have a “Birthday Party” and bring gifts with which to equip our new club room. The following program arranged by Mrs. J. N. Griffeth on “Geor gia’s place in History and Litera ture,” was presented: Georgia’s Place in History—Miss Reba Thompson. Georgians Place in Literature—Mrs. C. E. Adams The club was indeed glad to wel come Mrs. Roy Murray as a mem ber. It is the desire cf the club that everybody in Danielsville become a member and help promote the wel fare of our town. Mrs. J. T. Murray and Mrs. R. H. Graham were the charming hos tesses of the occasion and carried out Easter suggestions both in the decoration's and salad course. The club adjourned to meet again te first Wednesday in May. MISS BARROW ENTERTAINS MUSIC CLASS A most enjoyable occasion of Wednesday was the picnic given at Boggs and Moseley Spring by Misa Marie Barrow flor her music and chorus classes. Games of all kinds were played until about 6:30 when the picnic lunch was spread. After the deli cious repast songs were sung and a jolly good time enjoyed until time to journey, back holme. Every one left thanking Miss Barrow for a happy time and dedaring her an ideal hostess. MINISTERS’ CONFERENCE The next session of. the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Northeast Georgia will be held at Athens, Apni 13, at 1.1:00 A. M.
